Default Update on Panthers stadium upgrade

    Panthers.com.au

Jan 17 - Work is well underway on turfing the surface of Credit Union Australia Stadium.

The first of the turf arrived yesterday and the groundsmen began laying it in the afternoon. If work continues at the same pace it could be finished by Friday afternoon.

Wet weather has proved to be a boon for the operation although it has caused some disruption to putting up the steel frames that will carry the extensions to the Western Grandstand.

The first of the steel units were erected yesterday before the rain.

That western stand was shocking. The only thing I hope they don't ruin is the hills at either end. That happened at Parramatta Stadium after lunatic Bulldog supporters caused trouble, let off flares, started fights etc during an Eels-Dogs game a few years ago. Keep it Penrith, and families with young kids will thank you for it.

While they're at it, did they bury that so called ground announcer they had last year under the new stand? Whoever he is, he's a shocker!!!

Good to see the people of penrith getting what they have been asking for, for quite along time.

Hope the stadium will have extra seat facilities cause they are really struggling to put people on seats.
