Im looking forward to the Skilled Game against the Eels.
Not many good performances by anyone in this team tonight. Magic Mead is the lone danger in this side and should be given the ball at least once every set and that is no joke.
2 Bux Srama killed me in Fantasy this week...grrr
Yeah mead is the only one with spark as of late, Presto had a pretty good game aswell
We looked good for about ... nah, why am I kidding myself (just musing).
Four reasons to escape to Queensland: Sun, Surf, Sand & the Titans.
What did people make of the Moltzen try? Looked like an old fashioned obstruction to me. Not one but two players impeded. Overall, we managed to get back into a game we were being slaughtered in. One bad pass and some disorganised attack and we surrendered momentum and any chance of giving them a scare. Not sure Parra deserve the spoon more than we do, bit would love to give it to them.
Geese are the ultimate team players.
They honk to encourage one another!
I think Srama might have had enough now. He tries so hard but he missed a few tackles last night and his service was not up to what it has been. I'm not saying this as a knock either. He's been playing 80 mins a week in his first season in the toughest comp on Earth. He'll benefit more than anybody from a proper pre-season. Just one more game for him to get through.
Watching the way that Mathews has contributed in the last month makes me think that we probably should have kept him and offloaded Bull. He looks a real up and comer and of all the players we have lost, I think he has the most upside. We'll see I suppose.
Tonga was a passenger for the entire 80 minutes. He's no loss at all.
There's a fair bit of pride on the line and we have to come in with 3 days less preparation. The boys just need to get up for one last hurrah, but success is not assured. Canberra failed to send their champion Tongue out as a winner. The thing is, we really have looked like a wooden spoon team all year and Parramatta have lost 3 games in golden point in the last 6 weeks. If we do finish 15th or 14th we really have dodged a bullet...
It is a shame we are losing Mathews but Bull is the one of about 4 players that showed heart out there last night. He was in the minority of 'sliders' when we were defending. 80% of the team could not be bothered and it made my blood boil to see it. It was so obvious and had I been in my motel room instead of a Cairns pub I would have yelled obscenities at the screen. Very very lazy defence out there and I will let them know it from my seat in Section 20 next Saturday if no improvement is shown...
Some of you bag certain players (Michaels etc) and he makes mistakes but it is not through lack of trying. He had a dig, which is a lot more than I can say about a majority of them.
Oh, another 30 degree day here in Cairns. I better get myself back outside and catch some rays..
Suffer you bastards!
I'm not trying to knock Bull in any way by those comments. I simply mean that we will only get 12 good months out of Bull where Mathews can offer us something for the next 5 years.
Yeah i agree Matthews has stepped up in the last few weeks, pity we didnt keep him.
5/8, 5/8, 5/8 ... it doesn't seem to matter which of the team fires we just continually stub our toes at pivot. I am not convinced we have the answer to that in our club.

I didn't see anything in Matthews worth re-signing - for until after he signed with St George. James Stosic was the same, averages performances right up until he left, and I see that in alot of NRL players across the board.
Extremely happy with our forward pack for next year (understatement!), not too upset about losing Matthews
David Mead certainly needs more ball, if that requires a position change then maybe thats worth considering, cause he is our most lethal attacking weapon.
I think our club has enough (and the right) ingredients to be a force next year, it's just a matter of the chef mixing them right and none of them 'going off' in the mean time.
The girl from the ring watched a highlights reel of Greg Bird, she died 7 days later.....
I'd like to see Lawrence get more minutes. Seemed to be making the effort to at least chase down a couple of those line breaks... can move for a big fella.
I see mead getting offered more $$ and going elseware being honest. Imagine him at storm with slater
