    BURLEIGH BEARS v WYNNUM MANLY
    Pizzey Park
    Sunday, August 21 ? 3pm * Live call on BAY FM 100.3

There could not be much more riding on this game, with both sides locked in the three-way battle with the Mackay Cutters for sixth spot on the ladder. The Bears suffered a heart-breaking 22-20 loss to the Comets last weekend to extend their current losing streak to four games, while the Seagulls were upset by an inspired Easts Tigers side at Langlands Park. The Seagulls look the more settled of the two sides at present, with Burleigh coach Paul Bramley tipped to make late changes due to a growing injury toll. While they may be slight favourites going into the game, Wynnum Manly have not won a game at Pizzey Park since 2007 and the Bears will be desperate to keep it that way. Despite last weekend?s disappointment, there was however reason to celebrate for the Bears, with Nick Parfitt moving to the top of the all-time Queensland Cup leading try scorers list with 113 to his name. The teams are also playing for the Adam Cook Watene Trophy. Adam played for both clubs and was a popular figure in the game. He played 22 games for Wynnum Manly and 83 games for the Burleigh Bears in his Cup career. If you can?t make the game, make sure you tune into the BAY FM call with Mike Higgison and Troy Robbins.

Bears lose Q Cup sudden death semi

THE Burleigh Bears have missed out on the chance to break into the top six of the Queensland Cup after losing to Wynnum Manly 32-12 at Pizzey Park today.

Burleigh Bears coach Paul Bramley said all credit was due to Wynnum, who turned up ready to win a sudden death semi.

"They were up for us Wynnum they played really well, they ambushed us at the start there and we were behind the line from there on,'' he said.

While the Tweed Heads Seagulls stretched their record unbeaten run to 21 with a hard fought 11-4 win over Ipswich at Stockland Park yesterday.
