Default Chris Walker released, career all but over

Chris Walker released, career all but over

CHRIS Walker's colourful NRL career appears to be over, with Parramatta granting the former Maroons flyer a release from the remainder of his contract this year.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal Chris Walker approached Eels officials two weeks ago for permission to re-join his family in Queensland.

Parramatta sources said Walker intended to retire following an up-and-down season with the blue and golds that saw his injury woes continue.

Sad to see it end this way. I hope he plays some QCUP or something.

He has always been one of my favourite players and I was so very happy that the Titans signed him and that he became part of our history.

He has given me so much enjoyment, maybe more than many players.

Thanks Chris. All the best for the future.

Indeed, Chris has been an excellent player when he's been injury and drama free. If that stuff could've been avoided, he surely would've had a stellar career that stood out of the pack. It is quite unfortunate to see him bow out this way, if this is it afterall.

It's has been great watching him tearin' it up, over the years. All the best with your future endevours no matter what they maybe, Chris.

Wishing Chris all the best in his future endeavours...I must say though we never saw a prolonged period of him at his best both on and off the field and that is a shame.

Yeah, he is in the Titans record books as Titans first try scorer

.......and you can't take that off him.

Yep, every time I hear his name that is the first thing that comes to mind.

A shame he never achieved to his full potential across his career, but he will always be remembered as a great Titan.

    Nice one Chris!
