Thumbs up SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ? Member?s BBQ

    SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ? Member?s BBQ

This Saturday the Jetstar Titans will be holding a Member?s only BBQ at the Centre of Excellence. We appreciate that catering at the football is expensive and with this in mind we want to provide our members with an inexpensive option to grab a bite to eat before the game.

For just $5 on entry, members will receive a voucher for a hamburger and drink. Alcohol will not be served due to licensing restrictions. The COE will be open from 4.00 ? 5.30pm ? simply present your membership card to the security guard to gain access.

To help us with anticipated numbers, please respond to this email indicating your intention to attend the BBQ on Saturday. The club is working on alternate catering options for members only and we look forward to making an announcement about this soon.

This is absolutely inspired and well done to the Titans for taken action against one of the biggest complaints us fans have. I also think it is a very good idea.

I encourage all the Members out there to email membersinfo@titans.com.au and pledge your support. Maybe we can make this a tradition with enough support. Let's make it a big success! It is also another innovative Membership benefit and may also offer a social time for Titans fans to chat.

    Win Win Win.

This is a great idea but I question the time of the event,,, why not do it earlier so the 20's still get their support from us fans..

My first thought also. But there is really no other time, it is more for people to get a feed on way in to game I guess.

Really great to see them trying things like this. I feel sort of justified for pushing the food agenda so hard.

Absolutely mate, well done. I think you deserve some of the credit. Either way I'm giving it to you.

It's getting old school at Skilled Park, General Admission seating in the legion, big flags and now a BBQ at the Centre of Excellence.

I think it's great to see the club actively on our side and looking out for ways to better look after us.

But while we complained on the flipside we must turn that around and show support for this. I guess it's a plus that the Titans have directly emailed it to all Members. Hopefully they pump it through the official Titans facebook, I know we can give it a run on the Legion one.

love this idea. Build up the culture and get the fans interested in coming to the Park again.

By showing the member's that they want to take care of them, hopefully that means others will want to be apart of that as well. I like the polo idea too.

It reminds me of the American sporting tradition of tailgate parties -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tailgate_party

Yes please! (I know we cant have alcohol due to licensing)

Fantastic idea and I fully support it. My concern regarding this is that the 20's need our support as well and we may see their small supporter base decrease even further.
It has been the great support from the legion that are at the 20's games that has started to make them feel a part of the clubs culture. Hats off to the great LEGION fans, you guys and girls make the day extra special in my view.

Thanks mate, the Under 20s boys mean so much to us and we see them all as Titans players who bleed for our jersey. The passion and support for the Under 20s in The Legion is huge and we hope to build on that.

Hopefully the BBQ encourages more people to come to games by and large and also to attend earlier. It doesn't take 90mins to eat a burger and drink, so hopefully.... hopefully they migrant to the stadium.

If we get big numbers to the BBQ it would also be beneficial for us to have a healthy movement of happy fans between the BBQ onwards to the stadium.

I fully support this idea and hope they modify it a bit to make it a bit quicker,we queued for 10 mins without really moving forward at around 4.40 and it seemed we might be another 15mins till getting served so we went into the ground along with another 7 people who left behind us.But they do need this so i hope it works well for them.

We went around 5ish and were served pretty quickly then. And I must say - SO much better than the food inside. Steak was cooked very nicely and it was nice to have something cooked freshly. Thanks Titans great idea!!!

I really enjoyed it. $5 for a steak sandwich and a coke is awesome value and the Titans probably saved me around $20.00 on Saturday.

We could use some chairs to sit down on to eat though. But it was a good chance to socialise with other fans as well.

Good to see LOTS of familiar faces in the lines.

It was a big line but it moved fast. The door prize was an added bonus.

I think they prepared the food in time, it was all ready to go, so it's more an issue of distributing it.

I hope we see another one at the Titans v Sharks game!

The reason they did not put out chairs ect, was they didnt want people lingering, just grab the food and go basically.

But was tough to do with a Burger and a drink, everyone felt like tucking in straight away.

I thought the quality of the food was exceptional
and the price was spot on.

Really glad they have tried it, and hopefully is the start of a tradition for GC fans

Yes the chair thing was questioned by a few when I was there but you have to sit and eat - you can't carry that and a drink and eat - well I know I couldn't have anyway!!! If it is going to continue, which I would love to see, it would be nice to have something for kiddies too - especially at that time - maybe a sausage on bread and a popper for a smaller price???? Just an idea anyway :-)
