I think there should be a rivalry round in the NRL as there is in the AFL. The games would be as follows:
Dragons vs Sharks
Roosters vs Rabbitohs
Knights vs Sea Eagles
Panthers vs Eels
Storm vs Warriors
Cowboys vs Broncos
Bulldogs vs Tigers
BYE: Raiders

They already have an 80's week in there
Most of the matches on what you said are basically at the first 7 rounds i would say dunno about panthers & eels but mostly the rest would be in the first 2 months of the season. Plus with the bye and all in the way it sure does not help

Panther4eva that is nice idea.. however they have done local derby rounds before and I reckon that having them all on the same weekend would take away from the whole local derby aspect as every club would be having one... but that is just my opinion..
If I was to do it though it would be like this..

I would give the bye to NZ as they don't fit locally with any other team... there is more reason for Canberra to play Melbourne than Melbourne playing NZ..

There could be so many combinations, look at these:
Dragons v Bulldogs-How they were competitive in the 80's
Eels v Bulldogs-80's again
Tigers v Sea Eagles-Fibros v Silvertails
Eels v Tigers-Alleged takeover talk
Eels v Sea Eagles-Just genuine hate of each other
Roosters v Sea Eagles-Fight over who is the most hated team in the comp :rotflmao:

Dragons and South have always been a great league tradition since way back, Manly and West were the 70's. Supose we could put Brownie and Radanukius together for a slap fest.

Dragons have great rivalries with a number of clubs (I think it's because everyone builds up when they're playing the most passionate team
)
But it has to be the Scum from the Shire that we play in our derby.There is no I in TEAM!
