    Default Luke Douglas to Titans

New blow to the Sharks as Douglas becomes a Titan

    April 20, 2011 - 6:12PM

They may lose Kade Snowden to Nathan Tinkler's Newcastle, but Cronulla are first set to be rattled by the loss of their other young prop, Luke Douglas, who is believed to have signed a new deal with Gold Coast.

The Herald understands the Titans have claimed their second coup in eight days, by signing Douglas, the 24-year-old prop. While most have concerned themselves with the future of Snowden, the NSW representative, the Titans quietly negotiated with Douglas. They are believed to be set to announce a new three-year deal as early as tonight, following on from last week's announcement they had secured Jamal Idris on a long-term deal.

The loss of Douglas would be a huge blow for the Sharks, who are still bracing for the loss of Snowden. He was set to re-sign with the club before Tinkler convinced him to hold off.

The Titans have been criticised for having an ageing forward pack, but the signing of Douglas would go some way towards countering that. The club is still negotiating with current co-captain Luke Bailey and is confident of re-signing him.

Officials see Douglas as a perfect front-row partner for the veteran.

you always should have 6 front rowers, 2 on the field, 2 on the bench, and 2 suspended

THE NRL's most durable forward, Luke Douglas, has quit the Cronulla Sharks to sign a three-year deal with the Gold Coast Titans.

The rangy prop, who has played well over 100 games straight in the NRL, agreed to terms yesterday.

He will be taking a pay cut from his current $350,000-a-year deal with the Sharks.

He will join the Titans at the end of the season.

Just saw that Coaster. You think its a compliment for us, or an insult for them? Either way, good news.

As long as we're under the cap, there's no problems. Man City is completely different, IMO. It's great that we are able to attract quality players to the club.

    That is happening
    Ridge
    Mathews
    Lawton
    Srama
    Gordon
    Mead
    Tonga
    Thompson
    James
    ect.

Front rowers need age, Douglas is perfect only 24, he has heaps of growth to come.
