Walker To Miss Next Four Games
    QRL Media

TWEED Heads fullback Shannon Walker was last night suspended for four matches in a major blow to the Seagulls’ Intrust Super Cup campaign.

Walker, who was sent off for a high tackle in last weekend’s win over Souths Logan, was found guilty of a Grade 4 reckless high tackle. He also received 50 carry over points.

The suspension rules Walker out of the Tweed’s round two clash against the Norths Devils at Bishop Park on Sunday.

Norths skipper Mark Vaiao and experienced five-eighth Shane Perry have also been ruled out of that match due to suspension.

Both players were suspended for two matches at last night’s judiciary following separate incidents in the Devils’ loss to Mackay last weekend.

Vaiao pleaded guilty to a Grade 2 dangerous throw and received 43 carry over points.

Perry was banned after pleading guilty to a Grade 2 reckless high tackle charge. He received 56 carry over points.

Burleigh’s Marty Mitchell also received a two match suspension last night, ruling him out of the Bears clash with the Jets and the big round three showdown with Redcliffe.

Mitchell was found to have no case to answer on his striking charge, however he was found guilty of Grade 2 dangerous contact. The Burleigh five-eighth received 50 carry over points
