Are we at risk of losing Bird?

I'm a bit worried about this Tinkler take over of the Knights. It'll mean they'll be cashed up. We have seen how he is interested in certain players.

I fear that he might try and "buy back the farm" as soon as he controls the club.

Thoughts?

On a year-to-year deal with the Titans, Bird will remain on the Gold Coast unless he receives an offer above $400,000 a year.

Newcastle and Cronulla are keen to talk turkey with Bird but may not want to fork out that much cash.

He might try and breach the cap, I guess, but he'll be caught. He wasn't offering that much to begin with, and his faux pas going after Snowden and Idris shows how inept his player shopping will be.

Worst case scenario is it'll be like Souths, some high profile signings, but hardly a star in every position, you might as well worry about the Broncos taking Bird.

And that's if it happens, which if the Knights have any sense they'll hold out for a real offer from someone less flakey.

That is what I hope and think as well matti.

Tinkler will definitely try and fill the knights team with Newcastle Juniors or local boys that have since moved on. How many he gets though, is anybodies guess.

In favour of the Titans yes but his price goes up each year so he could only leave if we were not prepared to pay the price of which the Titans already know the figure..
