Can't find City / Country teams anywhere but their aren't enough players from the Warriors in the national team to worry them overly:

    LEWIS BROWN
    LANCE HOHAIA
    SIMON MANNERING
    BEN MATAULINO
    SAM RAPIRA

That's from a squad of 19 so they may not all get a run...

Most if not all of those players are going to get a run and that will devastate the warriors

No Bird in City / Country. Are we going to pull a Matt Cooper and say a player is injured only to play for their club in the same round??

You want Presto out of fullback?

It's a big stretch to have all 3 in considering the improvement the weekends team just showed.

presto at number 9, he's played there and he has played good, meaning we can fit em all in

Presto will get pumped at hooker, teams aim up at him, titans over compensate and holes appear elsewhere on the field usually out wide.

It's alot of changes to a winning side.

A specialised hooker in for Friend is an easy fix.

how would he get pumped? nathan is as small as him, there are as good as players as eachother, presto has played 1,6,7,9

I have major respect for Presto but we will not win games with him at 9. He misses half his tackles.

You honestly think Presto is as good as Friend at hooker. Presto is efficient enough at that position but he is not the dominant presence at 9 that Friend is regardless of size.

If Presto does go to 9 then Shannon could get called into number 1, but I would say Capes gets there 1st. Tomane and Taga would need injuries to come in

Id say Taga would come in.

Any number of players could play for the Roos, Harro being one of them. Personal opinion of Sheens I'd say.

Harro will be lucky to get chosen for QLD this year with the form that Dallas Johnson is showing up at the Cowboys. They both play very similar roles. QLD selectors see their value and we win year in and year out but NSW and Australian selectors don't see the value in the hard working backrower. Their loss. That said, I don't think you would want two in the one team.

    Warriors seek cover

A makeshift Warriors side could take the field against the Gold Coast Titans on Sunday, two days after the Anzac Test, as coach Ivan Cleary faces plugging five sizable holes.

Stephen Kearney picked five Warriors in his 19-man Kiwis squad on Sunday, including both in-form centres.

Injury had already robbed Cleary of Jerome Ropati (season-ending knee) and Shaun Berrigan (broken thumb), and now the Kiwis have pinched uncapped Lewis Brown and skipper Simon Mannering, just as the converted back-rowers had solidified the Warriors' troublesome edge defence.

Star winger Manu Vatuvei is on track to return from his opening round knee complaint for the following week's clash with Newcastle, but with the electric Glen Fisiiahi also out and fullback Lance Hohaia on representative duties, the back three comes under scrutiny.

Kevin Locke's form is a plus. In and out of the side this year and despite having a sexual assault charge hanging around like a bad smell, Locke has recaptured the No.2 jersey. The speedster's two tries in the 26-18 win over the Panthers may have seemed opportunistic, but he showed enough nous to put himself in the right positions to convert those chances.

If Hohaia does not back up for the Titans, Locke could switch to his favoured fullback role with Krisnan Inu and Bill Tupou on the flanks.

The last of the Warriors' five possible absentees ? Sam Rapira played his best match of the season against the Panthers. It would be a huge ask for a prop to front up two days after the physical confrontation of an Anzac Test.

Cleary hinted at selecting a side for the Titans minus all five named to take on the Kangaroos, though, if fit, some battered and bruised members could back up for the Auckland-based side.

The Warriors' Kiwis jetted out to the Gold Coast straight after securing their fourth victory from the last five matches.

"We've just got to prepare without the guys who make it," Cleary conceded of the Kiwis' selection. "We'll prepare a team that doesn't include those boys that have been selected. Obviously it's a bonus if they can back up."

To help counter a taxing five weeks where they will have played Melbourne, Manly, Gold Coast and Newcastle, all away from home, the Warriors will not return to New Zealand after the Titans clash, preferring to remain in Australia for a week's training.

Vatuvei was a 'big chance' to travel with the squad and a 'possibility' for the Knights clash.

"He's been going Ok," Cleary said. "We'll just have to see how he goes. We won't be taking any risks with him, but he's definitely getting closer.

"I'd be good to have him around. He brings that intangible quality, not just how he plays, but having him around is a benefit as well. It's good to win a few games while he was out."

While feeling more comfortable after turning around the horror three-loss start to the season, Cleary lamented two late, soft tries against the hapless Panthers.

"There's a lot of hard work ahead," he believed. "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed at the end of the game. We've got a little way to go yet."

Mannering shunned suggestions his side was on a roll and admitted Sunday's performance was not on the same level as the win over Melbourne.

"There were massive improvements last week, probably not so much this week," the skipper said. "It was an ugly win. But during the start of the year when we played ugly we weren't winning so it's a positive."

much this week," the skipper said. "It was an ugly win. But during the start of the year when we played ugly we weren't winning so it's a positive."
