Orford desperate to break duck
Matt Orford is "filthy' over his start to life as a Raider, with the veteran playmaker taking a large portion of the blame for Canberra's second straight loss on Saturday night.
Orford was one of several Raiders to produce below-par performances in the 34-24 loss to Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Stadium, the former Dally M medal winner coming up with a few costly errors to cough up cheap possession.
An inexcusable forward pass inside his own 20 metre zone led directly to a Robert Lui's 36th-minute try, Orford having now lost both games in a lime green jumper after his understudy Sam Williams had engineered a season-opening win over Cronulla.
"It would have been nice to have a win," Orford said of his frustrating struggle since returning to the NRL after one year playing in Super League with Bradford.
"Coming to a new club, you don't want to be 0-2.
"It was always going to be a challenge working with the team and getting used to new structures.
"There were a few errors of mine tonight which cost us field position.
"I'm pretty filthy on my performance."
Orford was not on his own, however, with Canberra committing 19 errors for the game as it fell behind 34-10 before a flurry of late points when the result was beyond doubt.
"We really have to get back to the drawing board, everyone has to be accountable - every single one of us" Orford said.
"There's effort there, but it's individual effort, it just doesn't work, you have to work really hard as a unit.
"We had a chance to get back into the grind there and we just turned the ball over too easy, we didn't really respect it.
"They were dead set under-7 kind of errors across the board ... I put my hand up and several other guys would definitely put their hand up."
The Raiders now face an equally desperate Gold Coast in the nation's capital on Saturday night, the Titans still searching for their first win of the season.

The girl from the ring watched a highlights reel of Greg Bird, she died 7 days later.....
I would normally have the same opinion but White hasn't done much in the opening two rounds to impress (apart from that monster hit he put on). I have faith that Hendo will see the light and stop making the 1-2 errors he has in his game. The ball is in his court, Carty has shown plenty of faith in his ability but it's time he repays by showing some good form.
Much of a muchness really though in the end of the day.
difference is boof i dont have my heart in my mouth when white hits up the ball because he can actually hang on to it
