    Default NRL Trial Matches 2011

OK...I 'borrowed' these dates from leagueunlimited as I was looking for the Coffs Harbour trial date thinking Titans were going to be there...I am unsure of my chances as they are playing in Mackay the following weekend but anyways.......for those interested....and feel free to post others as they get announced.

P.S. The Charity Shield is in doubt due to the fact that the Dragons will be playing the WCC around the same time.

For sure....It is only down the road and the Novotel has a pitch and putt (except for the 9th) golf course that is open to the general public. Both the Rabbits and Titans stay there. I watched the Rabbits play a round from my room and if I had backup I would have given them grief....but no way I am doing that on my own... ....especially later that day when they took over the games room and there was only me and the missus there. I gladly loaned Crocker my cue stick!

Pre-season trials start in three weeks

NRL clubs will play a total of 27 pre-season trial matches in February throughout regional Queensland and New South Wales, Sydney, Brisbane, Alice Springs, New Zealand and England, with the Rabbitohs the first to kick-off in Sydney at Redfern Oval on February 5.

The "Return to Redfern" match between the Rabbitohs and the Newtown Jets at Redfern Oval marks the start of a month-long campaign just five weeks before the Telstra Premiership begins on March 11 when the Rabbitohs and Roosters kick-off the 2011 season at the Sydney Football Stadium.

The pre-season also begins on Friday, February 5, for the Warriors and Knights, who will play a charity match in Greymouth, NZ; while the Sydney Roosters are hopeful of being able to show their support for the victims of flood-ravaged Queensland with a match scheduled against the Ipswich Jets at North Ipswich Oval.

While there is some uncertainty around some trial matches scheduled in Queensland due to the current flooding crisis, clubs are anxious to get to the affected areas and provide locals with some relief.

Among other matches currently scheduled for Queensland venues (Brisbane, Gold Coast, Townsville and Wynnum) in the first two trial weekends is the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars match at Skilled Park, Robina, on February 12.

The final "trial" will be the World Club Challenge between NRL premiers St George Illawarra Dragons and UK Super League champions Wigan warriors in Wigan on February 27.
