Spent yesterday campaigning for Rudd and then to the branch party at Easts Leagues. Was a great night. Not so much for the rest of the ALP!

Costello seems like he is in a different league to the rest of them, if he ran, he would have had my vote in a flash.

Not my favourite politican, even though I grew up in his electorate and so did my family. Pretty funny when he said "I dont know what type of lunatics you have on your panel" or something. He was pretty grumpy.

I watched the numbers roll on at a function but taped the ABC and have also watched a Sky News replay on A-Pac.

Also the knives are out in Labor with a lot of people furious at how the campaign was run and the knifing of Kevin Rudd. Brett Raguse, Maxine McKew and Chris Trevor, who lost their seats, leading the way.

I think the favourite to form government are the Coalition but I am pleased that the Independents see the NBN as a positive. I want that NBN!

I want a NBN too, but i sure as hell dont want to pay 43 billion for it, and then have it blow out.

Why dont they spend that money gettng people away from the urban sprawl, and then when there is enough people there, the private companies will willing pay that debt.

I'm sure everyone wants the best broadband we can build, myself included.
$43B is one thing, but does that include interest on the debt it creates (or prevents us from repaying)? We all saw (or didn't see) how Labours "laptop for every student' policy turned out; $800M very quickly blew out to double and still didn't work. Imagine if they got the figures wrong on $43B! All that risk for an out-of-date system... No thanks. Stick with a cheaper alternative until a better proposition comes along.

One thing I liked about Abbotts campaign was dedication to repaying debt. I hate debt, more so the interest you have to pay on it - it's money you never get back especially when investments pan out the way Labours did; Pink batts, school halls stimulus ect....
