The second massive 3pm game on Sunday is set to be played with all the intensity of a cut-throat semi-final. Defending premiers the Sunshine Coast can confirm their spot in the finals and could possibly even leapfrog Wynnum Manly into third with a round 21 victory. Along with the Pride, the Sea Eagles are the form team of the competition and have hit top gear at exactly the right time for Brandon Costin. The Sunshine Coast thumped the Ipswich Jets 52-10 last weekend to further strengthen their imposing for and against record (+184). Star fullback Dennis Sandow scored 20 points with two tries and six goals to eclipse Trent Hodkinson’s club record for most points in a season. Burleigh coach Mark Gee has named an unchanged 17 for the Pizzey Park clash. The Bears were super competitive against Norths last week but a number of defensive lapses proved costly in the final wash up. Another loss here could see either Mackay or Redcliffe join the Bears on 23 points with a round to play.
