Titans' lid is firmly on, says Carty

TITANS coach John Cartwright is doing his best to keep a lid on the hype surrounding the Gold Coast's run to the finals as they prepare to fight for a top-four NRL spot against the Sydney Roosters on Monday night.

Cartwright is taking a 'business as usual' approach heading into the heavyweight SFS encounter against the fifth-placed Roosters in an effort to keep his players focused.

While the Titans have all but secured a place in the top eight, Cartwright is not about to change his winning formula with the club hunting its fifth straight win.

''The eight is nowhere near settled,'' he said.

''We have to win games to make sure we get in the eight, and then as high in the eight as we possibly can.

''It is two top-four sides going at it for a position at the end of the round in the top four.''

The Roosters beat the Titans when the sides met at Skilled Park earlier this season, but Cartwright said he was reading nothing into that result.

''Lots has happened since then,'' he said.

''We are in the final three games and both of us a sitting pretty close.

''That will tell you it is going to be a pretty close game.''

The Titans will have their final training run on the Coast on Sunday before flying out for Sydney in the afternoon.

I'll be cranky as hell if Rogers gets shifted from 5/8

We need to keep him where he is and get this combination right, we are 3 weeks away from the semis ffs.

Zillman to FB, and bring in a winger

That's a good thing, the times over for chop and change.

We have the team to win this thing, get them in form and only replace because of injury.

It's not your call mate, so don't dwell on it, just get behind the players that are picked.

Atkins is a solid defender on the wing, can leap, and is a genuine winger.

Considering as you have been telling us for weeks he won't see the ball, we need a defender and a good leaper.
