the bench onwards is a ? for me
i would have bird in the back row
rogers/campbell at 5/8
with walker at fb(depending if he gets a few more games)
bird is a amazing playing, but he aint a ball player, his a ball runner who creates stuff off that. and we lack attack when his at 6
Somehow Prince and Bird are on different pages and I would love to see Ash bring back his running game.

Four reasons to escape to Queensland: Sun, Surf, Sand & the Titans.
Bird should not or would not take the lock position off Ash. I would think he would be a better option in the second row if not his position at 5/8. Why should Harrison be pushed out of his position just to accommodate Bird anyway. Someone even put him at 17 on the bench outside Mini. lol. I would love to have Rogers at 5/8 alongside Princey, Preston at fullback, naturally Friend at Hooker and Bird on the bench as a utility. No one here can honestly say that Harrison should be pushed out of his position because Bird is a better option at lock. If you do, you musn't watch his game very closely. But then again not many on here do so I can understand why. He is the type of player that does his job quietly without fanfare. I admire players like that. Not the ones that demand attention because the media and commentators talk them up all the time.

Just an idea I'm throwing around......
Supergoose' idea of Bird in the center isn't a bad one at all, I quite like it. It looks like a big shuffle on paper, but it's only #1 #4 #5 #6 that are rotating on the field it and wouldn't take much to switch between attack & defense. The benefits are obvious; we keep our already effective 2nd row intact and unchanged, and our backline has all our speed & attacking flare but still looks solid in defense. Also, with the depth of our backs already on the field, we can stack the bench with big blokes and still be covered for injuries.

Zillman at 5/8 allows for Bird to move to lock, Rogers to remain in the centers where he is more deadly and keeps Campbell out of the front line. I think his defense is very good and he was a 5/8 up until making his first grade debut for the Raiders. We haven't had chance to see what his passing and kicking game is like, but I've read through a few old threads on the Raiders forum and there's a lot who believed he was being groomed for the 5/8 roll and was preferred in that position ahead of Campese.

The best team we can take into the Semis is a far cry from the Titans best team when all are fit. Sadly we wont be able to see the best fit team til next year. Most teams in the 8 will have their best lineup going into the semis.
