NYC Titans shoot for five straight

The Jetstar Gold Coast Titans NYC under-20s are looking for their fifth-straight win in a crucial game against the in-form West Tigers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Friday.

The team is enjoying a four-game winning streak and are determined to make it five in a row on the back of a bye in Round 17.

The Titans currently sit just one competition shy of the top-eight in 10th spot on the ladder , with a win against the 4th placed Tigers needed to keep the teams chances of making the finals alive.

The Tigers have been in form also, registering five wins from their past six starts.

In their previous four matches, the team has secured wins against Newcastle, Canterbury, Manly and Canberra, with all four clubs currently sitting above the Titans on the NYC ladder.

With only a one point win against the Knights in Round 16, the team will be looking to improve on its performance in order to notch up a convincing win and their fifth straight against the West Tigers.

After suffering a humiliating 48 – 8 thrashing by the Tigers in Round 25 last year, the two teams’ last encounter, the Titans are determined not to let history repeat itself.

Titans halfback Cody Walker will be looking to have another strong game after his impressive performance against the Knights in which he scored a try and set-up another in the side's 21-20 victory.

Kick-off is at 5:20pm on Friday July 9 before the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans take on the West Tigers in the NRL game.

The Players & Paterson need to be given a big pat on the back for turning their season around from looking like Spooners to Contenders
