Canada Mounties National team jersey released
The Canada Rugby League Mounties national team will feature in a predominately red strip for their inaugural match at the AMNRL?s ?War at the Shore? tournament in late July.
Canada Rugby League and Kukri Sport, the official teamwear supplier for the CRL, have worked together to develop a national team jersey which is obviously very Canadian in look, whilst also being a true Rugby League jersey.
The outcome is a predominately red strip, featuring a very Rugby League twin black Vee down the centre of the jersey. The jersey also features the Canada Rugby League logo, and Mounties team logo.
Speaking about the new look jersey, Canada Rugby League president, Jamie Lester was proud of the final design.
?Our aims in Canada is to develop a Rugby League program that will last decades, so we wanted to ensure that we developed a national team kit that could stay intrinsically the same over that time, whilst remaining fresh and moden.?
?We feel the twin black vee on a red jersey is something that can stand the test of time, and hopefully be associated with the Mounties national team the same way the twin gold vee on a green jersey is associated with the Kangaroos.?
The strip will be worn for the first time at the ?War at the Shore? tournament in New Jersey in July, and for future internationals played by Canada Rugby League in 2010.
The jersey will be available for sale from the Canada Rugby League website this summer.
