It doesn't seem like much of a rip off when you compare it to a raffle. IMO this is simply a raffle with an added element of choosing a certain price

I certainly hope the under $2.00 price is accurate. It is a raffle of sorts, similar to the guess how many jelly beans are in the jar type raffle. I think it would be good for someone to publish the amount raised by such an idea.
