A Poem for our boys!

[Titan2007]

80 MINUTES

The bus is ready,
It's time to load,
Our players and gear,
Will hit the road.

Up the highway,
The Cauldren awaits,
The Titans arrive,
They drive through the gates.

One by one they depart the bus,
Quietly with no fan fare or fuss,
Each have thoughts of their own,
They have a game they must atone.

Into the sheds,
With strapping to be done,
Their bodies are ready,
They're second to none.

Stetching and passing,
Warming up for the game,
It's nearly time,
For a final's claim.

The boys huddle together,
They shake each others hand,
A slap on the back,
United they stand.

The time has come,
Nerves put aside,
They follow each other,
Standing tall as they stride.

The noise is deafening,
The fireworks light the sky,
They run into position,
It's now do or die.

The ref blows the whistle,
Now accomplish your dream,
The next 80 minutes will show,
You are the CHAMPION TEAM!

ENJOY

The scene is set on the Gold Coast strip,
The Titans name is on everyone’s lips,
The Blue of the sea, the gold of the sun,
This week is all about having fun.

The shops have banners, flags and balloons,
The streets have cars with stickers,
Robina Town is all lit up,
The kids,they have their clickers.

The mighty Legion is gearing up,
With helmets, capes and swords,
With painted face and bodies,
They deserve the ‘Best Fans’ Award.

Let’s celebrate how far we’ve come,
Leading to this game,
And when the final whistle blows,
Let’s start all over again.

A PLAYER’S DIARY

Monday and Tuesday are the same,
I do my weights then I train,
I book a time with the Doc,
Cause after the session I pulled up lame.

After a bit of physio,
An icepack does the trick,
One hour on, then one hour off,
Now that was pretty quick.

Wednesday is our day off,
I have a yoga lesson,
Then off to do a promo,
Then a video session.

Thursday we all go to the beach,
With tackling in the sand,
We finish off with a stint in the surf,
No better place in this land.

Friday is game day, we go for a walk,
Back to the Centre for stretches,
Some will have a swim in the pool,
But most of the time we just talk.

Home by lunch, I pack my bag,
I have an hour kip,
The shirt is ironed, the suit is aired,
The mouthgards in a mouthwash dip.

At 5pm the missus gets home,
From being at work all day,
I give her a kiss and a hug,
She wishes me good luck for when I play.

I jump in the car, pick a couple of boys up,
Arrive at Skilled Park just in time,
A Journo grabs me for a chat,
Sometimes they walk a fine line.

Into the shed, excitement all around,
The time has finally come,
To wear the mighty jersey,
Of the Titans, The only one!
