Emerging Origin Camp designed to transform boys to men

    ONE weekend.

On face value it is hardly going to change, transform or even have an impact a talented first-grade rugby league star.

Throw in the opportunity to pick the brains of super coach Wayne Bennett for 48 hours and go through the process of being in `Origin Camp' with Mal Menginga and it could just be the two days that transform so-called rugby league boys to men.

Queensland Rugby League yesterday unveiled plans for this weekend's Emerging Origin camp at the Queensland Academy of Sport.

The Titans will have a trio in the squad of 14 which have been identified as Origin stars of the future.

William Zillman is the most seasoned in the squad.

Had it not been for injury Zillman would have played Origin by now.

He had a somewhat frustrating return to the game last year rotating on and off the bench at the Titans.

Queensland Origin sources have revealed he was selected to acknowledge the work he has done to get back on the park and act as a reminder that he is still looked on as someone yet to peak.

It backs up the view of Titans boss Michael Searle that Zillman is a Kangaroo in waiting.

Esi Tonga and Joesph Tomane, like much of the remainder of the squad, fall into the young gun category. Untapped talent, unknown potential.

Queensland rugby league heavyweights will learn about their focus and mould this weekend.

The information will be processed and the students' form followed.

Yes, it is only two days starting from tomorrow.

But it's two days that could shape the destiny of their career.
