The only Sunday match of an intriguing final round is likely to have a major bearing on the make up of the final six. For Norths, the equation is simple. A final round victory would qualify the Devils for the 2009 finals just 12 months after the Nundah club claimed the wooden spoon. The Jets can potentially bundle the Devils out of contention and qualify for the top six but Glenn Lazarus' team would only sneak in if Tweed or Burleigh suffered unexpected final round defeats. In a remarkable statistic, the eighth-placed Jets have the second best defensive record in the competition. But they'll need to call on every bit of that defensive muscle if they are to halt the momentum of a red-hot Devils team that has scored 82 points in its last two outings.
