Sydney Roosters have signed Gold Coast second-rower Daniel Conn for the 2010 NRL season.

The 23-year-old has agreed to a two-year contract.

Conn will help fill the void left by skipper Craig Fitzgibbon, who will join English Super League team Hull next season and Shane Shackleton who will play for Parramatta.

Roosters recruitment manager Peter O'Sullivan said Conn, who made his debut for the Bulldogs in 2005, will be a good acquisition for the Roosters.

"Daniel is a player who can play on the edges as well as up the middle of the field," O'Sullivan said.

"He has had an injury-plagued season but has forced his way back into the Titans top 17 since returning from a broken thumb."

I can't say I am real happy to see him go but am glad to see him get a run next year cos he is too good to end up on the NRL scrapheap.

Ah damn it, heard this on the radio coming home from the Canberra v Titans game, big loss for us. Shame he hadn't game time to prove himself with us with his broken thumb. He will be missed by the team and fans. Good luck in the future Conn but not against the Titans!

I was also a bit suspect when my friend who leads The Chook Pen messaged me on facebook "Hey whats the scoop on Conn? I want to add him to my fantasy team." LOL I never answered, had to head off to Canberra.

He sent this a couple days before this announcement, obviously got the good oil the sly dog. LOL

Saddened to hear that Daniel Conn will be leaving the Titans despite his limited appearances for the club due to injury...I always felt he gave his all for the team sometimes playing on when obviously injured...I wish him well at the Roosters...at present they need all the help they can get!
