Extra game for Townsville
September 06, 2007
QUEENSLAND has secured an additional game for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup - Australia against Papua New Guinea on November 9 .
It will now host the final and five other games, after a second match was confirmed for Townsville's Dairy Farmers Stadium.
It will also host the England v Papua New Guinea match.
Queensland Premier Peter Beattie today told state parliament north Queensland is set for a "rugby league bonanza".
"Fans will come to the game, stay for a holiday and enjoy the sights of north Queensland, while spending their hard-earned pounds," he said.

Good news for Townsville to secure a game involving Australia.
Now all we need is for Mr Beattie to keep his promise to upgrade the stadium to 30,000 seats.
