Default Redbacks V Warriors (ING CUP) *spoiler*

    CURRENT SCORE:
    SA 190
    WA 4/150(35.4 overs)

    Voges 39 (66)
    Marsh 39 (55)

PIERCING spells by Western Australian fast men Brad Williams and Brett Dorey tore the heart out of South Australia's batting to ensure a lowly total of 190 in the ING Cup match at Adelaide Oval today.

Mark Cosgrove's 71 was the only score of note for the Redbacks, who lost a crippling 4-8 from overs 15-19 to tumble from 1-73 to 5-81 and were ultimately bowled out in 49 overs, a barely defendable score given WA's deep batting line-up.

Bowling first-change and second-change, Dorey (2-25) and Williams (4-35) retrieved an awkward early situation where SA had begun well.

The visitors were helped by some compliantly loose shots as SA's batsmen failed to adapt to Dorey's line or Williams' speed.

Earlier, Warriors captain Mike Hussey happily sent the Redbacks in under cloudy morning skies, but significant swing for Darren Wates and Mathew Inness failed to prevent SA from sailing into the 70s at five per over.

With little to show for the new ball, Hussey employed his second wave, and it was the fastidious Dorey who slowed the run-rate then made the break with an off-cutter that shaved Greg Blewett's inside edge on its way to Adam Gilchrist.

A fired-up Williams generated considerable speed at the other end and quickly proved too much for Mark Higgs and Callum Ferguson, who both showed questionable technique to have their stumps shattered within four balls of each other.

SA skipper Darren Lehmann then gave his wicket away with an impatient biff at Dorey to leave the Redbacks floundering.

The situation was deemed so dire that supersub Cameron Borgas was called up in place of tailender Paul Rofe to band-aid the home side's batting.

He stuck around while 43 further runs were added, before Cosgrove dragged a wide Wates delivery onto the wicket to end a well-struck if not spotless 96-ball stay.
Now lacking an anchor, SA's innings drifted to its less than satisfactory total, Jason Gillespie (42) offering typically dogged resistance.

Damn Voges is scoring slow today. What happened to the good old days when he scored as fast as Afridi?
