Ah wells barring a last minute lineup change Holbrook has shown his cards. I’ll be cheering us home but if you told me to select our strongest team this ain’t it. Our season lives and dies with this game so either way the choices are going to come into question.

I am really glad to see titans fans across all social media platforms ripping into Holbrook. The fans aren’t dumb they know this is a foolish move
I am still in disbelief honestly. What in the actual F did Marzhew do to get dropped?
Hope no one is working Friday because I think we'll be having a few drinks Thursday night. Glad it's not a home game.
I’m surprised no one has put Don up as the replacement for GL.
Could it be that GM has a niggle and will be nursed through the week to see how he pulls up ? If he pulls up ok he gets elevated to the squad? Not sure but a thought.
The hooker merry go round continues. It’s got the feeling that he’s is a text book coach who can’t adapt…serious concerns on a Holbrook. His post game press conferences have raised red flags and today’s team have me leaning towards Coach Holbrook has reached a ceiling in capability……I certainly hope we win
So according to Fogarty we should play "cute" and Peachey and Sami certainly meet that requirement over smart.
Surely he must be injured or have a niggle I had to read the team list 5 times to make sure I wasn’t dreaming
After seeing the uproar on social media over marzhew getting dropped for sami, It's going to be interesting to see the backlash holbrook will receive if this team fails to fire Thursday night.
I don’t think so. The post-game press conferences are a charade to create headlines and I wouldn’t say he’s text book - he’s innovated some small things in the way we play that even the top teams have implemented. Has us playing a pretty entertaining brand of football too and a very happy playing group. The culture is the best it’s been within the playing group. I think he needs a better quality roster before we can really see where that ceiling might be.
He just makes some head scratchers when selecting teams. Opting for experience is fine but shouldn’t be at the expense of form. Cannot get my head around the selection principles.
Holbrook innovated the halves coming back super early in the set and spreading the ball wide. Now everyteam does it.
With Taylor not being picked this week it is probably fair to say that we have seen the last of Taylor and he will not play in a Titans jersey again. What a disaster few years that was. A million dollar player who now can't even get a contract for $250,000.
Swapping Sexton for Fogarty I’m actually ok with. Halfback is a tough position and I suspect Holbrook is trying to ease Sexton into first grade rather than throwing him in the deep end in pressure games and potentially breaking him like Tom Dearden. I just read on reddit that Dearden has lost his last 25 games as starting halfback. I’ve no doubt the poor kid’s confidence is shot after that and I’d hate to see the same thing happen to Sexton.
Dropping Marzhew for Sami I cannot understand unless it’s because of an injury. Not only is Marzhew clearly the better player, but we now have two left side wingers in Sami and Thompson.
Letting him play after two wins then dropping him after an inevitable loss would be more of a confidence killer IMO. He had a great 1st game and was on cloud 9 and didn't want to go back, nek minut, captain pedestrian comes back and he's goooone

This is not a head to shave
That would be one of the rudest melons I think I’ve ever seen
Start off by dealing with racist posts first. That should be an absolute at our club and within our fan culture.
One upon a time, far far away in a sunburned land, where men were called men and women rang the bell for dinner, small children would sit around the fire before bedtime and listen in awe to stories of wondrous deeds. Times have changed and the fires have died and turned to stale Ash ... but somethings haven't and for certain a good melon, or two, is still a thing of wonder.
Sami has been firing at training?? Marzhew has been firing on the field where it counts you dipsh*t Justin! I remember will Zillman was a great trainer too…didn’t amount to much on the field. This better be 4D chess and Marzhew comes in before game time as Sami has played plenty of games but it’s been a long time since his last good one. Poor message sent to players. Only good trainers get spots not those who are performing when it counts..that will do me
I remember a time when the differently abled blokes would at least have a go at joining in on the banter. These days, they remind me of the evangelical street preachers who would perch atop their soapbox to harangue passersby to repent for their sins. It’s a real shame what’s happened. Game’s gone soft but I think we can still save her.
I think it's a case of comparing melons with melons.
But why hook one of your best performing players. Marzhew has shown up every week and executed everything he needs. How does “experience” trump that? Sami has been sub par every game this year so it’s not like you are replacing Marzhew with say a Thompson. It’s a cop out excuse. Experience doesn’t equate to performance. Don is the most experienced winger we have but his performance isn’t first grade. Sami is Q Cup grade at best. Anyways I’ve beaten this dead horse enough. We need the win and it’s going to take more than Sami turning up for us to win.
Getting a bit too deep and meaningful for a footy forum guys. Lets get back to the match thread.
EDIT - Thanks 5 year
I'm still pissed that Marzhew's been dropped. Sami offers absolutely nothing. And I'm sorry, but if Sami does take the field tomorrow night and plays an integral part in if we lose then Holbrook has a lot to answer for, the same goes for naming Peachey in the halves.
Marzhew has been cut from the 21 so all I can say he must have an injury
How lucky is corey thompson no teams ever attack down his wing
NRL.com Preview - Knights v Titans: Frizell back, Klemmer out; Peachey new No.6
https://www.nrl.com/news/2021/08/23/...ctor-in-doubt/
The Knights look all but assured of a top-eight finish after they took care of business against the Bulldogs and a number of teams in the chasing pack on 20 points were beaten.
Despite a stack of injuries and a horrible points differential, Adam O'Brien's men are in the box after reeling off four straight wins while the Titans pushed Melbourne on Thursday night before being overrun by the reigning premiers in the second half.
Of the three teams locked on 20 competition points the Titans' differential of -46 puts them just behind Cronulla (-32) and ahead of the Raiders (-85) so a win here would go a long way towards securing Justin Holbrook's men a first finals berth since 2016.
Match: Knights v Titans
ROUND 24 - THURSDAY 26TH AUGUST
Team news
Knights: Jack Johns has a shoulder issue and dropped out of the extended squad on Wednesday along with Simi Sasagi.
David Klemmer entered an early guilty plea on a contrary conduct charge arising from the win over the Bulldogs and will miss one game. His place in the front row is taken by Sauaso Sue.
Tyson Frizell returns from a one-game ban in the second row so Brodie Jones reverts to the bench.
The Knights have won five from five with Jake Clifford and Mitchell Pearce in the halves.
Titans: Kevin Proctor (shoulder) came through training on Wednesday and remained in the 19-man squad after Esan Marsters and Greg Marzhew were cut.
Toby Sexton is an option for Justin Holbrook with Tyrone Peachey listed in the halves.
Moeaki Fotuakia (knee) is a certain starter after missing last week's match.
The Titans have won five of their past seven games against the Knights.
Key match-up
He's been used in the middle and on an edge this season but Mitch Barnett remains one of Newcastle's most consistent performers, and all-action back-rower who has posted career-high numbers for run metres, tackle breaks and tackles this season.
Meanwhile consistency is the one attribute that's been lacking in superstar Titans second-rower David Fifita, arguably the most dominant ball-runner in the league with the most tackle busts in the NRL and the most tries of any forward.
If Fifita is kept quiet like he has been in recent weeks the Titans could struggle, but if he's on his game the Knights could find themselves in big trouble.
Stat attack
These teams have met four times in the past three years and none of the games have been close. The Titans won comprehensively on three occasions on the Gold Coast (38-14, 36-6 and 42-16) while the Knights easily won the other match in Newcastle (38-4). This match is technically a Knights home game but the ramifications of COVID-10 mean it's taking place on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, giving the edge to the official "visitors".
Mini Grand Final Day has arrived.
