Bloody hell. Who will be suspended etc??
Did the Dogs have any injuries and reports???
The positive for this game is if our men can build off of the 2nd half against Penrith.
Who cares? Surely after tonight's performance there won't be many people turning up to watch. Putting a score on the Bulldogs means nothing. Useless. Might as well throw a QLD cup team out there in place of our first grade side.
That’s what I wanted to do today. Play the kids today and put our best team on for this game (including Fifita).
The competition is a joke. Everyone is wasting their time except for Melbourne and Penrith.
We need to use each game to shape our roster and culture.
This game is an opportunity to do that.
5 year plan.
As strange as it seems after a loss like that - if we beat the Dogs by about 10, Raiders lose to Storm (likely) and Manly lose to Parra by around 10 (quite possible), we would be 7th. A game against the Sharks follows.
I hope we don't play the dogs into form
We need to beat the Dogs and Sharks the next two weeks to be any hope in making the top 8, no excuses.
Tough without Fifita again this week (and maybe Peachey) but we should still have enough to knock them over provided we don't take this game lightly
Without Fifita, Ese’ese (anybody else think he’s a Herman Munster lookalike) and Peachey then I hope we see Farmer and Stone added rather than Whitbread.
Official confirmation from the judiciary that Peachey is facing 2 weeks out and Ese’ese 3 weeks.
So guessing Tino to lock, Mo to front row and Stone + Whitbread in (although wouldn’t mind seeing Farmer get a go if he’s impressing)
Every week it's the same group of players getting mentioned here doing the same old sh*t every game. Our run of strong defensive games at the end of last year started when Proctor was suspended and Fermor and Stone were on the edges. Coincidence? It's time to sack guys like Wallace, Proctor, Peachey off. If we're gonna keep naming hot and cold players (or in Proctor's case just useless players), expect hot and cold performances. It's the same problem as it was in 2019. Our senior players are liabilities and their leadership in discipline and effort sucks.
Whitbread has been playing better than Farmer at Cup. JJ collins was playing good too until he got injured or something.
Couldn’t agree more. If you keep doing the same you’ll get the same. Tino to lock, agile edges please, we have power forwards in Tino, Fifita, Mo, Jolliffe and Lisone.
From the moment Pepsi did his thing he should have been axed from the Club and never have been captain. It has been a stain on our community ever since. Add to that his woeful form. He was playing for an extension last year and got it, now he’s got the management’s trust he’s feeling comfortable again. Get rid of him.
Last game:
Sami - 13 runs, 86m (6.6m per carry).
Don - 8 runs, 46m (5.8m per carry).
Marzhew 16 runs, 146m (9.1m per carry). His previous two games he also ran for 237m and 196m (14m and 16.3m per carry respectively).
Different quality of opposition but the stats tell a story. We have two very ineffective outside backs and one player in reserve grade who runs like Brian To’o. If we don’t play him we will lose him to a smarter team.
IIRC wasn't Marzhew the kid being talked up as being the next big thing a few years back? There's probably a very good reason why he still can't crack first grade.
Only highlights and whatever games I can watch on Kayo. Is there something I’m missing?
Tino to lock sounds good.
I also agree about Proctor.
If being a defensive liability is a concern it is worth noting that both Sami and Don are terrible defenders and have had more than enough time to correct that in their game.
If he grew an extra 2 feet and put on 10kg then he very well could be T ;)
Mate I'd love to see him get a crack at first grade but I'd worry given the heat Sami cops for his defensive ability (or lack thereof). Marzhew is an animal at carrying the ball but is shorter than Thompson, lacks a vertical leap, isn't an acrobatic finisher and makes really poor decisions defensively
Then again if there is any team in the NRL i'd like to see him play against, it is probably the Bulldogs

Fair enough mate. Though if you think they're bad, he's a fair bit worse
Unfortunately there is a reason he isn't getting a run as GT said
NRL.com Preview - Titans v Bulldogs: Bracing for bans; Napa closing in on return
https://www.nrl.com/
The lustre is rapidly disappearing from Gold Coast's premiership credentials thanks to a collapse in the team's defensive resolve in recent weeks.
The Titans have conceded a staggering 188 points in their past five outings, sending their points differential into negative territory and the club out of the top eight.
A match against one of the NRL's battlers should be just the pick-me-up the team needs but the roller-coaster form line and absence of star forward David Fifita (suspended) dictate that nothing be taken for granted. And with dates against the Storm and Roosters looming this is a win the Titans just have to have.
Being unable to seal the deal after leading 12-8 against a 12-man Canberra is hardly an encouraging sign for the Bulldogs. It's been four weeks since Canterbury's lone win of 2021 and they still don't look like they have worked out how and where victory No.2 will be secured.
The rundown
Team news
Titans: Gold Coast are waiting to see if forwards Herman Ese'ese and Tyrone Peachey will be sidelined by suspension after being hit with careless high tackle and crusher tackle charges respectively.
Five-eighth Ash Taylor (hip) is the only likely casualty ward returnee the Gold Coast can budget for this week.
Bulldogs: Prop Dylan Napa (shoulder) is pencilled in for a return from injury in round 11 but dummy-half Jeremy Marshall-King (foot), lock Josh Jackson (calf) and prop Jack Hetherington (suspension) are at least another week away.
Sione Katoa and Ava Seumanu***ai have escaped with fines after being slapped with dangerous contact charges after the loss to the Raiders.
Venue:Cbus Super Stadium, Gold Coast
Key match-up
Tino Fa'asuamaleaui v Luke Thompson: The former Storm forward has been a terrific recruit for the Titans this season and this week comes up against another star front-rower whose impact has been more under the radar in 2021. Luke Thompson arrived at the Bulldogs mid-season from England last year and didn't quite hit top gear, but with a pre-season under his belt has improved across the board this season with his run metres per game improving from 111 to 142 while his tackle counts, tackle breaks and offloads have all increased. These two are middle men their clubs will look to build around in the years to come.
Stat attack
The Bulldogs may be in the competition basement but they're the intercept kings so far in 2021. Canterbury have snagged six opposition passes to rank No.1 ahead of a four-way tie for second between the Cowboys, Roosters, Eels and Rabbitohs on five.
I'd also like to note that the Valleys Diehards womens team play Burleigh Bears in a curtain raiser. Top of the table clash for the BHP Premiership.

Titans forwards Tyrone Peachey and Herman Ese'ese have both taken early guilty pleas and will miss two and three weeks respectively.
Peachey was charged with a crusher tackle on Panther Liam Martin and will miss the clashes with the Bulldogs and Sharks, while Ese'ese copped a grade three careless high tackle charge after he was sent off on Sunday.
Tino to lock, Mo to start in front row I'm assuming?
I very reservedly felt that Taylor might get a look-in and thankfully he didn't.
Marsters to start, Fermor to the backrow and Tino to lock with MoFo starting ... Clark and Stone on the bench, predictable and a danger game.
Stone and Clarke onto the bench with the rest the side the same as last week.
Devastated to see Sami still in the squad, Don got a pass mark from his last game to buy 1 more week in the squad

Thought I'd throw this in too. I was hoping no KP and McIntyre was given the green light. Also interesting to see both Sexton and Taylor in the 21. Seems like a strange extended bench but then again not many options left after suspensions and injuries.
Shuffled pack for Dogs, new faces included
https://www.titans.com.au/
With Tyrone Peachey, Herman Ese'ese and David Fifita all missing through suspension, Titans coach Justin Holbrook has had to shuffle his pack for the round 11 match against the Bulldogs at Cbus Super Stadium.
Tino Fa'asuamaleaui moves to lock, the position he played for Queensland in last year's successful State of Origin campaign, to cover for Peachey.
The move sees Moeaki Fotuaika move back into the starting pack at prop.
Sam Stone is in line for his first game of 2021, with the backrower included on the bench after showing some strong form for the Burleigh Bears.
Erin Clark also returns to the Titans 17 and will provide plenty of energy and effort when he runs onto Cbus Super Stadium.
Young prospects Jayden Campbell and Toby Sexton are both included in the extended squad, with both having excellent seasons for the Tweed Seagulls.

This is exactly how I feel about the garbage that is V’Landys League.
I don’t really want to go all that much anymore and I paid heaps to be a member.
All good this week as no Peachey at lock and Rien has replacement this is where our defence lack in the meddle then this draws all back in
I feel better knowing Peachey is not playing lock Stone will hold his own Fermour will be put into some good hole from Boyd
Clark will put Jolliffe in for a try
Go you good thing Go Titans
Love your enthusiasm J-a-F
Saw this comment on reddit, thought it was worthy of a repost.
Titans got storms, roosters, sea eagle, eels, rabbits, storms to play before the end of the season. I don't see them winning any of them. Thats 6 hard games in 14 remaining.
They got dogs, sharks, Raiders, dragons, dogs, cowboys, knights, warriors.
Assuming youll need close to 50% win rate to make finals,
And with a 4-6 record,
They need to win all 8 of the winnable games.
(If we lose against dogs) That's probably season for titans.
I’ve already called it season when we lost to Souffs. We are cooked.
Great Post! We need to pickup whatever we can through the next month/origin period and if we are even a hint of being legitimate this year we need to hit form after origin and at least go 10/14.
Yeah, some teams (panthers, storm etc) just seem to maintain the whole year but how many times do we see a red hot team hit the skids post origin and another team catches fire.
I haven't given up hope of this but as has been posted a million times there are current players in our squad who need to go. They have had enough chances now and its not working so its time to give others a shot. Its been clear now for the last 6 games that we shouldnt have Proctor, Don, Sami and Wallace as starting players when you could just as easy for example start Joliffe over Wallace.
Its hard not to be a "knee jerk" fan and request changes after every loss but I think 6 weeks is a good sample size and its clear that 1/3 of the team is currently not upto scratch.
If we dont address this soon the season will get away from us. If we cant beat the dogs even with our missing players then the year is nearly lost.
