Part Time Journalist - Gold Coast
At the National Rugby League (NRL) we’re very proud of our workplace culture. We are the governing body of Rugby League in Australia and we use the power of sport to drive positive social change in communities and raise awareness to reduce domestic violence and support mental health.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Part-Time (10-12 hrs / week) Reporter on the Gold Coast, covering the Titans and the Broncos. The position will commence in Feb 2019 and run until the end of Oct 2019.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Produce accurate and timely news and feature reports from press conferences, media opportunities and live matches
- Report on breaking news and issues in rugby league
- Produce content in text, video and audio formats
- Establish and build contacts, particularly within your allocated region
- Work collaboratively in a team environment
- Develop professional working relationships with key stakeholders – NRL, State and Club officials, players and player agents
Required:
- Appropriate Tertiary qualifications, experience working as journalist essential
- Deep knowledge and understanding of rugby league
- Ability to work in a high pressure and competitive media landscape
- Thinking creatively and innovatively about ways to produce and deliver content across text, image, video, audio and social formats
- Strong communication skills
- Highly organised
- Willing to work extra hours when required
- Ability to learn to create and handle content in CMS (Episerver)
