Giant ‘goon bag’ showcased at Cottesloe’s Sculpture by the Sea
IN MY COMMUNITY: COTTESLOE beach is currently home to what could be the most expensive ‘goon bag’ in the world as part of the area’s annual Sculpture by the Sea.
The 10th annual event launches tomorrow and runs until March 24, showcasing 74 artists from around the globe.

Created by Mount Lawley artist Norton Flavel, the sculpture Bulk Carrier stands at an impressive four metres tall and is designed to float on the water.
The sculpture of the giant ‘goon bag’ will undoubtedly be a big hit during the exhibit as it conjurers up nostalgic memories for some of drinking on the beach, waking up with a killer hangover and inflating the bag to double as a pillow.
The sculpture, which is made of reflective PVC and epoxy resin, is on sale for $20,000.
