Burleigh Bears 2019
Bit of a worry that Burleigh lost.
Their line up was full of Titans contracted players.
Wasn't it just 3? Arthars, Whitbread and Farmer?
Jimmy has said he has changed up a lot of the structures this year and was expecting it to take a little while to all gel.
Hopefully they go a bit better this week.

BURLEIGH are set to benefit from the presence of Gold Coast Titans cult hero Anthony Don against Ipswich this afternoon as they strive to open their Intrust Super Cup victory account in 2019.
The veteran winger was a surprise omission from the Titans’ Round 1 side, meaning he will return to the Bears, who he played with before graduating to the NRL.
“He is a long-standing Burleigh bloke from years ago and it will be good for a lot of the young blokes in the side to see someone with his sort of profile playing at the club,” Burleigh coach Jimmy Lenihan said. “I’m sure he will be really positive in the way he plays with us.”
Lenihan was disappointed with his side’s first-up 28-22 loss to Norths.
“We’re still working on things and are a work in progress,” he said.
“Last week I think we just needed to finetune the little things that we are doing with our defence and see if we can make those improvements this week.”
Dale Copley is not expected to join Don in dropping back for the 4pm kick-off.

The Seagulls will be out to break their second noted losing streak in as many weeks when they take on Burleigh Bears in the Intrust Super Cup rivalry round clash at Pizzey Park.
The Ben Woolf-coached Seagulls ended their seven-match losing run against Townsville at Piggabeen Sports Complex last Sunday in their first victory against the Blackhawks.
The away side haven’t won against their arch-rivals since 2015, with the Bears winning the past six games between the two side, including the last three played at Pizzey Park.
The Gulls will be without halfback Ryley Jacks, who has been called into the Titans line-up, with utility Jack Cook named at halfback.
The Bears, who have won four of their past five home games, have a strong contingency of forwards that includes skipper Luke Page, Pat Politoni and current Titans Morgan Boyle and Jai Whitbread who present a strong challenge to the Gulls pack.

DERBY DAY: Seagulls out to end its Burleigh losing streak
https://www.tweeddailynews.com.au/
RUGBY LEAGUE: Tweed goes into this Sunday's grudge match having lost their last six games against the Bears.
The loss of Ryley Jacks who has been called up to the Gold Coast Titans will be a loss.
But utility Jack Cook will fill the number seven jersey and brings with him plenty of experience.
Mitch Rein, who played well in tough conditions last weekend, will again start in at hooker.
Coach Ben Woolf said his side's tight defence, which has been the hallmark of their first two victories, will be pivotal if they are to take bragging rights this Sunday.
"Our defence has been much better than last season with our missed tackles and line-breaks against us right down in the first two rounds,” Woolf said.
"But we know the Bears are going to be a really tough contest for us.
"They put 40 points on Ipswich last week and have a very experienced team, so we know what we're up against.
Woolf said his side was expecting a physical game as it traditionally is against Burleigh.
"It will be a really difficult task playing them at home this week and a step up from what we have played so far,” he said.
"We are really looking forward to it and all the players are really keen for the local derby.
"We are expecting a physical game and aiming to match them in this area.”
Fill-in halfback Jack Cook has had the full support of his coach thrown behind him for the round three clash.
Woolf said Jacks would be a loss to his side but his team is built to cope with players absent to play in the NRL.
"Riley will be a big loss but that is part of the affiliate process,” he said.
"We have prepared well through the pre season without him so are hoping it doesn't have too much impact on the team.”
Kick-off for the Intrsut Super Cup match between Tweed and Burleigh will be 2pm AEST.
So Politoni in strife.

EMERGING halfback Tanah Boyd will get the chance to impress Titans coach Garth Brennan when he makes his Intrust Super Cup club debut for Burleigh tomorrow.
The 18-year-old was blooded by the Bears in their 24-16 Rugby League Gold Coast A-grade win over Ormeau last weekend and will now progress straight into their ISC squad.
Boyd, who played 10 ISC games for Souths Logan earlier in the year before being signed by the Titans, will be deployed off the bench in a Round 15 away meeting with the razzle dazzle of Ipswich.
Bears ISC coach Jimmy Lenihan had a juggling act on his hands, given that he was already carrying three halves – Jamal Fogarty, Josh Rogers and Dylan Phythian – in his top 17 but will squeeze in another playmaker by utilising the latter’s utility value in a different position.
The supersub role designated for Boyd is part of easing him in to the second-placed side’s systems.
“While he’s certainly talented, still being a very young playmaker in a side that is fairly established is something that we’ll have to take our time with,” Lenihan said.
“We don’t want to put him in the deep end … a soft approach to start with for Tanah I think will be the best thing for everyone.”
Of his performance against Ormeau, Bears A-grade coach Matt Foster said Boyd did a fine job after having just one training run with the team.
“You could see in his passes and his movements that he’s a quality footballer for sure,” Foster said.
“He’s pretty strong for his size, he has got a good build.”
Fellow Titans mid-season recruit Sam Stone could also make his Burleigh debut at North Ipswich Reserve.
The duo’s addition to Lenihan’s stocks come as ace second-rower Blake Leary returns from France. He will start back at training on July 9.
Jamie Dowling and Dylan Kelly are due to make their injury comebacks soon too.
Burleigh won today and not only did TBoyd play but so did SStone
Bears were way too clinical for Tweed today.
Tanah Boyd starting #6 this weekend
{ ISC DEBUT } congrats to @gctitans contracted young gun Will Evans, who will make his ISC debut for @burleighbears tomorrow when they take on the Hunters in PNG. Normally at home in the centres, Will will start the game on the wing as burleigh look to cement their spot on the ladder in the lead up to the finals. Evans is a former Queensland under-16 representative and also featured in the 2018 NRL Schoolboys Cup national final for Palm Beach Currumbin. #futuretitan #upthebears #younggun #localfooty #isc #nrl #gctitans #wearelegion #thrunthru #weareready
