Magic Weekend may come to Brisbane - All/Many games

They have been doing this in the UK for over a decade to success.

And seems it may come to Brisbane and replace/build on the double header.

It'd be a bit of a second prize for not getting the Grand Final and another way for the NRL to mine some money out of the QLD government.

But I think it'd be great. Also I think there shouldn't be four games a day, but three.

It'd also be an opportunity for clubs to build fanbases in Brisbane/SEQLD and anchor it with official events.

I think it is something we could successfully add to our calendar.

I still remember going to the League-Athon in Sydney. The first year I think was 3 lots of 2 game. The second year it was 2 lots of 3 games. The 3 games were a great day.

Yeah I remember that too. John Singleton had a lot to do with it and I think you got a cheap ticket or two for one if you bought some product. I can't remember but I know that they got caught when a massive crowd turned up one of the days.
As for bringing it to Brisbane I don't see the point. The 8 games would not attract many more than they would individually and would just p1ss off members who are ticket holders. I know the Poms have done it for a while now but when I look at the crowds they get to it, it doesn't seem to draw that well.
I love the double header in Brisbane and I reckon we shouldn't overdo a good thing.

Yea I hope we don't lose focus on the Double Header when any Magic caravan moves on.

Broncos, Storm and Titans and Manly are four great drawcards.

The Ponies will fill Suncorp anyway but how about some games at CBus too ... a weekend festival in Brisso and the Coast?
