The launch of Sony's PlayStation 3 has been delayed in Australia and Europe until March 2007.

Launch dates for Japan and North America will remain the same - November 11 and 17 respectively.

Sony says the move is due to a delay in the mass production schedule of the blue laser diode.

The delay will be a bitter blow to Sony's chances of continuing its domination of the gaming market. Microsoft's Xbox 360 has been available in Australia since March, and Nintendo is expected to release its innovative Wii console before Christmas.

You are right steelers and it wont sit well with the people who have waited so long for it to come out i can just see Nintendo and Microsoft laughing all the way to the bank (literally)

i'm glad i've moved on to the x-boxs, after owning a playstation.

What a surprise! I knew this was on the cards though said nothing in hope that I would be proved wrong.

I might make the move to the XBOX360 which is an awesome unit in it's own right.

ill wait for however long it takes for ps3 to come out. ill never go to xbox

There is always delays with consoles, games etc coming to Aus. Not surprised really.

Some wannabe in my school said they've already got PS3's and i go that not even the creator of Playstation have it .

They think US is the first place to get it then they buy from there but there dumb Japan is actually where Sony is isn't it?
