Huddersfield Giants have added Australian threequarter Shane Elford and forwards Paul Jackson and Paul Smith to the side that lost at Leeds Rhinos.

Winger Martin Aspinwall is their only injury absentee.

Hull FC restore Shaun Briscoe to full-back in place of Motu Tony and Sid Domic returns in place of Richard Whiting at centre.

Hooker Wayne Godwin, left out against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats last week for tactical reasons, is set to return but Hull are still without stand-off Paul Cooke (torn hamstring), while second rower Shayne McMenemy has flu.

Huddersfield coach Jon Sharp
"We've had the toughest start in Super League playing all the top teams and the promoted side who were bound to be buzzing.

"That's the reason why we've started slowly. Usually we're quite quick out of the traps but that's more difficult when you have a run of games like this.

"The frustrating thing is that the players have done well for 90% of the time in all our games and we have lost each one only by a score. We know we're not very far away."

Hull coach Peter Sharp
"It was a tough game of footie and not very pretty either. But we got the win and we have to be thankful for that.

"It will do the players' confidence the world of good but I think we have to look into the reasons why the opposition always seem to score the first and the last tries in most of our games."
