Paddy, use the Wand tool, the one with the sparks coming out of it on the toolbar and click on the white area, that will get rid of most of it, then carefully use the eraser to erase any lasting white.

You can browse through all the fonts there and see what they look like before downloading them :) Once you have the fonts, and are creating your sig, just experiment with the different fonts until you come across a font that works well with the sig. And try to make sure you don't reuse the same font too much for different sigs, unless you are doing a copyright thing for yourself or a website name (www.titans.com.au).

Robbie that is a terrific effort for a first attempt and you did extremely well with the cut outs, they are very clean.

I reckon play around with light and shade a bit more, the picture is flat... the way to do that is to use the lasso tool and choose an area you want to make more 3D, say like the Cricket Australia Logo, lasso that, then play around with the brightness and contrast, saturation and lighting settings, to make it stand out.

It will take some practice, but considering the very decent job you did with the first attempt, you are going to be good at this in no time at all IMO.. :)

Ok all, as you can now see from my sig... I have created a Rick Kelly Sig to celebrate Rickers winning the V8 Supercar Championship... :)

Unlike many other signatures I have, which need permission for use, this one is free for any fan to use, it was created that way and hence is why it's being posted here... ;)

It ain't the best one I've done, but I do like it, it has a strange pattern to it.. Enjoy.

The best advice I can give in try to blend your render(pic) into the background as much as possible. To achieve this, and multiple layers and overlay them, and pin light blends and so forth.

I dunno about the rest, but I just craft a background out of mucking around with other images (blurring, messing with opacity etc.) and sometimes using different brushes, or both.

Just a tip paddy, with cutting out logo's, if you get your logo's from here: http://nrl.galahs.com.au/2006/index.html open them up in photoshop, you can then use the magic wand tool to delete the excess white bit...and it cuts it out absolutely perfect when put on a transparent background...Then resize it to whatever size is necessary;)

I did that with those 3 logo's in my Queensland sig and it turned out pretty good...;)
