Ponting looks to be in great touch today which could equal a big 100 on this pitch.

I am interested in seeing Watson today at this level again. We are crying out for a genuine all-rounder and the one dayers saw him come of age, let's hope that carries over to the test arena.

He needs to be given the chance to bat higher as he really can bat when given the responsibility of batting higher.

As a batter you would be surprised at the different attitude batsmen have when coming in hgiher.

I think Michael Clarke needs a big innings today.

Whilst he started his career brilliantly and is a long term test player, I would like to see a big century against the attack. He has the talent, he can play spin and this will be a perfect occasion to remind us all why he is so highly regarded.

Murali is bowling well though he does not bother as much here in Oz as his record here suggests. I think Vetorri will trouble us more in this test spinning the ball away from the right hander. In saying that, Murali is good to bowl out the rest of the team if conditions suit him and he gets his tail up.

Let's hope Big Matty can put on another big day for the Aussies ;)

LOL at the commentators though.. they expected a huge crowd in October in Sydney.. people do have to work... only in January can us sydneysiders take 1/2 a day off work to watch cricket.. :D :D

lol, who cares about the Streakers.

Australia are crushing the World 11, this is turning out to be the biggest dud. I've been positive about this series all along, but Im now thinking its a flop.

Graeme Smith showed some smart captaincy this arvo by bringing Flintoff on a taking light when it was clear that Australia were getting the upper hand.

Wouldn't be surprised if this ended tomorrow.

I was thinking before the series that the World XI would walk away with a couple of wins under their belt, but they just aren't able to gel as a team. Disappointing to see. The World XI should of got more time to prepare and get to know each others games.

Mouth droppingly great...what a pleasure to watch, anyone else see it? 3 balls beat the bat and on the 4th he got his man.

I feel Simon Katich may have just played his last test this summer.

He can swing the ball with or without cloud cover. As seen in England, the Poms know how to swing the ball, and that troubles the Aussie batsmen.

I have so much respect for Andrew Flintoff, what a fine player he is. Cynical me was thinking perhaps he was a flash in the pan in 2005, how wrong was I, this is a world class all-rounder who I am sure has earnt the respect of all.

Great to see us with two leggies, with our fast bowling stocks a little low, why not use the great Warney with MacGilla at the other end for this summer?

MacGill is world class and IMO would be a 500 test wicket player if not for a guy named Shane Warne. With both able to bowl long spells, it could be the way to go this summer freshening up the great McGrath with Watson and Lee.

Interesting that this is the first time this amazingly talented batting line up has reached 50 overs in 5 innings. Doesnt look good for Sth.Africa or the Windies!

2 world class leg spinners, 15 wickets in one test. What could of been on some of those english wickets.

Geez, MacGill loves a bowl at the SCG at test level doesn't he? lol Another 5 wicket haul, 9 wickets for the match...PLEASE SELECT THIS GUY TO BOWL IN TANDEM with Warney and we will not lose a test match this summer.

What a dud. I have been a supporter all along of this series, but now Im flip flopping it was a dud.

but was this due to Australia dominating or poor selection on the World Team? There was No Sachin and I don't know how Lara got in there :S.

Im a fan of the concept but not this particular series.

I think the World XI never gelled as a team. They didn't have enough time to get to know each other and each other's playing style.

Same from my end. I love the idea.

Sachin was selected but pulled out coz of injured. Brian Lara hadnt played a game of cricket in 4 months or so.

They definitely shouldve been given more practice matches.

It is a fantastic concept. Perhaps they could create a tournament with all the test playing nations (except Bangladesh) and when a player in the World XI is playing his team, he plays for his team, not the World XI.
