This thread is an updated version of the last movements thread which can be found here: http://www.titans.com.au//forum/showthread.php?t=990 .

This list contains:

Gains: Made by clubs for the 2007 season and beyond, some gains are that of those who signed during 2006 season too. So your team may have signd someone in 2005 but they will not appear on the list ie: the titans will be missing a few players to their gained list.

Losses: These are made up of players that have signed elsewhere in the year 2006 to go to other clubs for the 2007 season and beyond, as in the gains some losses have been done mid way through 2006.

Re-signed: Players that have re-signed in the year 2006

You can also find a list of off contract players in this thread:
http://www.titans.com.au//forum/showthread.php?t=3843

two more re-signings tonight:

The Real Insurance Rabbitohs have announced the re-signing of Shannan McPherson for the next two seasons today.

McPherson, 20, has established himself in the top grade this season after coming through the Rabbitohs' junior ranks to make his first grade debut against the Bulldogs in 2005.

Rising star, Kade Snowden has agreed to terms with the Newcastle Knights to wear the blue and red for at least another two years.

A former Australian Schoolboy, Snowden has progressed through the ranks of Harold Matthews and SG Ball to cement his position in the Jersey Flegg Front Row, and is widely regarded as a future NRL First Grader, having already played in the top grade in 2005.

Leon Bott to the Cronulla Sharks - look for confirmation tomorrow or in the coming days. Weidler is over the story though there have been whispers now for some time with Bott not happy with the Broncos and his lack of time in the top grade after a sensational rookie season.

Craig Wing to the Titans? Hmm...another hit and miss most likely with Weidler though he raised the question on the Footy Show.

Titanium_BD1103
29-06-06, 11:32 PM
He had Wing to the Tigers or the Titans... I think if it were serious, a move for Craig Wing would be a good acquistion, but I think that Wing might be a bit too much money for the backline when you can sign a player like Webster, however he is a good player.

I thought it was funny how he said Brett Finch would be offloaded by the Roosters if there was a club who wanted him...... I am sure something must have come up for him... I mean he isn't that bad is he??

As I said in the other thread, Bott would be a huge asset to Cronulla and a loss to the Broncos, however I guess you can't have a player like Bott sitting in QLD Cup, so it will be for the best.

Peachey joined the Rabbitohs in May after English Super League club Widnes released him, citing an inability to afford the former Dally M fullback of the year.

Souths have had a disastrous start to the season and last week suffered their worst defeat in history when trampled 66-0 by the Warriors.

Despite their current position, Peachey said he is pleased to remain at the club and was looking forward to finishing his career at Redfern.

"I said when I left for the UK last year that I thought I had two more seasons left in me in the NRL and the Rabbitohs have given me the opportunity to prove that," he told ABC

"I'm enjoying playing back here in Sydney. We have goals we have set for the remainder of this season and we are going to do everything to achieve those, and with the players coming to the club next year and the young players we have coming up there are some good times ahead for the Rabbitohs and their supporters."

Rabbitohs Sign Daniel Irvine for Two Years

The Real Insurance Rabbitohs have announced the signing of Daniel Irvine from the Bulldogs today on a two-year contract.

Irvine, 24, made his NRL debut with the Parramatta Eels in 2000 as an 18-year-old, before joining the Bulldogs in 2005. He has played 41 NRL games, is a strong defender, and has an excellent work ethic.

Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson says Irvine will push for first grade selection in 2007.

?We have built a big, aggressive forward pack for 2007 with the likes of David Kidwell, Dean Widders, David Fa?alogo, Scott Geddes, Joe Galuvao and Peter Cusack; and Daniel?s skills in the hooking role will complement these players with his strengths in defence and his speed off the mark,? Mr Richardson said.

Irvine is keen to get started at his new Club.

?I?m very excited about playing with the Rabbitohs next year as I feel the signings the Club has made are very promising,? Irvine said.

?The Club has a proud tradition and I?m looking forward to playing in the red and green jersey.?

Rabbitohs Re-sign Luke Stuart and Joe Williams for 2007

The Real Insurance Rabbitohs have extended the contracts of forward Luke Stuart and halfback Joe Williams for a further season today, retaining them for the 2007 season.

Stuart has been the Rabbitohs? most reliable player since he joined the Club in 2002, having played 96 first grade games with the Rabbitohs out of his 148 first grade games in his career. Williams made his first grade debut at the Rabbitohs in 2004 and has played 26 games in the top grade, scoring 172 points.

Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson says the re-signing of Stuart and Williams further strengthens the squad for 2007.

?Luke has been one of our most dependable players week-in and week-out and he was playing some excellent football until a knee injury ended his season early this year,? Mr Richardson said.

?Luke will certainly fit into the forward pack we have built for next season, and he will now have the support of other big men such as Roy Asotasi, David Kidwell, Dean Widders, Peter Cusack and Scott Geddes to help him out up front.

?Joe certainly has all of the skills needed to make it in the NRL and we are willing to work with him to become a regular first grader at our Club.

?We feel that Joe can benefit greatly next season from working with Jason Taylor and the other coaching staff to fine tune his game, and guide our backs around the park behind the forward pack we have assembled for next season.?

Stuart is pleased to have secured another season at South Sydney.

?I?m really pleased to have signed with the Rabbitohs for what will be my sixth year with the Club,? Stuart said.

?I?m really looking forward to getting back on the field and playing again in the new season alongside a few new faces in Asotasi, Kidwell, Widders, Vagana and Irvine.?

Williams is pleased to have re-signed for next season.

?I feel that I can cement my position at the Rabbitohs at halfback and I?m glad the Club has given me the opportunity to show that,? Williams said.

?I?m focussing on the rest of this season and getting back into first grade, and I?m looking forward to working with Jason Taylor, who is a halfback, and the players Souths have recruited and retained to become successful again.?

Manly wins Lyon race
July 5, 2006

MANLY has won the race for the prize signature of Jamie Lyon, with the former Australia Test centre set to ink a $2 million deal to join the Sea Eagles next season.

In a major coup for the northern peninsula outfit, the Sea Eagles trumped NRL rivals Penrith and Newcastle by securing Lyon for the next four seasons.

The Daily Telegraph understands Lyon's contract will average $500,000 per year and includes a $50,000 third party arrangement with one of Manly's major sponsors.

Manly executive director Paul Cummings was unaware of Lyon's decision when contacted by The Daily Telegraph last night, saying: "We've got nothing back yet, we've made an offer, we're just waiting.

"You probably know more than I do, that's often the way it happens."

Currently starring for St Helens in the English Super League, Lyon was still contracted to Parramatta until July 1 this year despite walking out on the Eels in March 2004.

Parramatta were manoeuvring for Lyon to return to the club earlier this season but the move failed.

Still seething over his departure two years ago, the Eels refused to give the former New South Wales centre permission to negotiate with rival NRL clubs until after June 30.

Manly, Penrith and Newcastle all headed the list of NRL clubs interested in luring Lyon with all three outfits submitting formal offers last Saturday.

Apparently, one of the major reasons Lyon has opted to join the Sea Eagles is due to his close connection with Manly recruitment officer Noel Cleal.

Lyon stayed with the Cleal family in Sydney when he was first recruited to Parramatta from Wee Waa and remains close friends with Cleal's son Kane.

It remains unclear what position Lyon will play when he joins the Sea Eagles with rookie five-eighth Travis Burns also re-signing with the club over the past 48 hours.

Broncos re-sign forward trio
July 5, 2006

BRISBANE has re-signed the forward trio of David Stagg, Ben Hannant and Michael Ennis.

Broncos managing director Bruno Cullen said today that prop Hannant had agreed terms for a further two NRL seasons, and Queensland second rower Stagg for three more years.

Former St George-Illawarra hooker Ennis, sidelined for the season following a knee reconstruction, had extended his contract until the end of next year, Cullen said. The Broncos recently re-signed Test and Origin fullback Karmichael Hunt and hooker Ian Lacey.

Cullen said negotiations with other Brisbane players coming off contract had progressed well.

"There are still a few with whom we are to come to terms, but I expect to have a clean slate within a week or so," he said.

Souths keep Luke Stuart and Joe Williams
Wednesday, July 5, 2006 - 12:00 PM

South Sydney has re-signed injured prop Luke Stuart and halfback Joe Williams for the 2007 NRL season.

After announcing the end of their recruitment drive following the signing of Bulldogs and New Zealand prop Roy Asotasi on Monday, the Rabbitohs began the process of player retention.

Stuart played just five games this season before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

But club chief executive Shane Richardson believes the 148-game front-rower will excel playing alongside the Rabbitohs revamped forward pack in 2007, set to feature new recruits Asotasi, David Kidwell and Dean Widders.

"Luke has been one of our most dependable players week in and week out, and he was playing some excellent football until a knee injury ended his season early this year," Richardson said.

"Luke will certainly fit into the forward pack we have built for next season, and he will now have the support of other big men such as Roy Asotasi, David Kidwell, Dean Widders, Peter Cusack and Scott Geddes to help him out up front."

With halfback Ben Walker set to leave Redfern at the end of the season, Souths extended Williams' deal for another year.

The 22-year-old has struggled to cement a position in first grade since making his NRL debut in 2004.

But the club is confident Williams will improve under the tutelage of former halfback and current Parramatta coach Jason Taylor, who is joining the Rabbitohs as assistant coach next season.

"Joe certainly has all of the skills needed to make it in the NRL and we are willing to work with him to become a regular first grader at our club," said Richardson.

"We feel that Joe can benefit greatly next season from working with Jason Taylor and the other coaching staff to fine tune his game, and guide our backs around the park behind the forward pack we have assembled for next season."

Williams said: "I feel that I can cement my position at the Rabbitohs at halfback and I'm glad the club has given me the opportunity to show that."

Tigers hand Panther new role
July 6, 2006

WESTS Tigers bolstered its backrow and centre stocks for 2007 today, signing talented Penrith youngster Danny Galea to a three-year deal.

Warren McDonnell, the premier's recrutiment manager, said the club has recruited Galea primarily to play in the second row, despite the 22-year-old spending the bulk of his four years at Penrith playing centre.

"We see Danny as a running second-rower who can still play in the centres if need be," said he said of the 186cm, 95kg player.

"The club has a great youth policy and Galea will be one of several top young players here at the Wests Tigers next season.

"Blokes like Dean Collis, Robbie Farah, Liam Fulton, Keith Galloway, Bryce Gibbs, Benji Marshall, Bronson Harrison and Shannon McDonnell are all under the age of 23, so it is a very exciting time ahead for the Wests Tigers."

Galea, no relation to current Wests Tigers forward Ben, has played 59 first grade games for Penrith since making his debut against Newcastle in July, 2002.

"Wests Tigers play a very, exciting brand of football and have a good, strong pack of forwards," he said.

"I am looking forward to the new challenge and know my football will further improve under the coaching of Tim Sheens."

The Tigers have also re-signed rookie Taniela Tuiaki for a further two years.

Advertisement:
Tuiaki, who has lined up on the wing this year, has scored four tries in seven games.

"Tim sees Taniela's long-term future in the forwards even though he has been performing quite well on the wing," said McDonnell.

Friday, July 21, 2006

The Sydney Roosters confirms that Brett Finch has been formally granted a release and will join the Parramatta Eels on a new 2 year agreement from 2007.

?The clubs decision to grant Brett a release was based on what we consider in the best interest of the player?s long term playing future.

?We are sorry to see him go as he is popular with all in our club, coaching staff and above all his team mates. Brett has been a great contributor to our club both on and off the field and I speak for all at the Roosters in wishing him all the best with his future? confirmed Roosters CEO Brian Canavan.

Brett will play out the 2006 season with the Sydney Roosters after 4 years with the club.

?I will miss everyone at the Sydney Roosters especially the players and supporters and the many friends I have met.

The Mitsubishi Electric Bulldogs have announced two new player signings today - Aaron Wheatley from the Dragons and Brent Crisp from the Raiders.
Wheatley, 24, is a strong, solid forward who has played five NRL games. He has signed on for one year with the Bulldogs.
Bulldogs recruitment manager Keith Onslow commented, "Aaron burst onto the league scene in 2005 for the Dragons before he was struck down with injury and illness. That set him back a fair bit as other players such as Michael Henderson took their opportunities. He's hungry for another go at first grade and will provide us with good depth in the forwards."
Brent Crisp, 20, can play centre, wing or fullback and has a very handy goal-kicking boot. He has secured a two-year deal with the Bulldogs.

Raiders re-sign Goodwin
July 25, 2006

The Canberra Raiders have re-signed dynamic fullback Bronx Goodwin for two years, with the charismatic Raider remaining in Canberra until the end of 2008.

Goodwin has been in scintillating form this season in the Raiders Premier League side, and has been knocking on the door of first grade with a string of solid performances.

Although yet to make his first grade debut Goodwin said he is excited about remaining in Canberra, and believes he has a solid future with the Raiders.

?I?m glad my future has been decided and I am even happier it?s with the Raiders,? Goodwin said. ?I really want to play first grade and I think it will happen here.?

Raiders Premier League Coach Andrew McFadden said he believes Goodwin has the attributes to become a regular first grade player, and will continue to get better as his career progresses.

?Bronx has things that other players haven?t got,? McFadden said. ?He has great on field vision and anticipation, and I think he has what it takes to become a regular top grade starter.?

McFadden said Goodwin?s on field application and determination are second to none, and his form this season has warranted another Raiders contract.

?He?s a real competitor and one of our most consistent performers week in week out,? he said. ?This has been his best season by far and I think he will get better every year he plays the game.?

Goodwin also gives Canberra another goal kicking option in the top two grades, with Clinton Schifcofske?s departure at the end of the season.

A MONTH after his career looked destined for the scrap heap, Melbourne Storm prop Ian Donnelly was last night celebrating a new contract and planning a surprise return for his club's finals campaign.
Donnelly suffered severe ankle damage in late June, when he attempted a seemingly innocuous charge-down on Bulldogs halfback Brent Sherwin at Olympic Park.

The initial diagnosis indicated Donnelly would not play again in 2006 and, off contract, his long-term prospects appeared far from bright.

But backing Donnelly to return to the form which made him the club's most consistent front-rower in the opening rounds, Storm last night offered him a new two-year deal.

We are just having a clean out of the club, next year the side will be very young and full of enthusiasm, everyone will be under estimating us, that will our greatest strength when we release the likes of Bronx Goodwin, William Zillman, Todd Carney and Michael Dobson on you all :D.

In signing news Jason Croker is expected to sign a 2 year deal with Les Catalans, joining his mate Adam Mogg and former team mate, now strength and Conditioning Coach Matt Adamson there, expect it to be announced later today :D

Melbourne Storm today released Chris Walker from the remainder of his contract for 2006 for personal and family reasons.

According to Storm CEO Brian Waldron, the decision for Walker to be released from his contract was made after discussions involving Chris, the Club and his Management.

"Chris agreed it was in the interests of both he and the club that he be released from his contract," said Waldron.

"Chris has indicated there are a number of personal and family issues he would like to address over the ensuing months that will require him to be based in Sydney.

"We did not want these issues to become a distraction for the Melbourne Storm for the remainder of the season. We need all involved with the Club to be focussed on the road ahead. Chris has a number of things going on in his life and thought it best he address them now.

"The Melbourne Storm wishes Chris all the best for the future and we trust that the experience of being a part of the Storm has been a worthwhile and rewarding one for him."

Walker is saddened that he will not see out the remainder of his contract and assist the team to have a successful finals campaign, but under the current circumstances he believes the decision made is beneficial to both he and the club.

"I feel it is best for everyone that I address these issues immediately, I believe I can't do that successfully in Melbourne and need to return to Sydney," said Walker.

"However I believe once I have addressed these personal and family issues I can once again focus on my football. At only 25 I believe I have another five years left in me at the top level.

"I would like to thank Craig Bellamy for the opportunity and I wish my team mates, who have been extremely supportive, the very best for the remainder of the season."

"They are a very tight knit group, who are good guys and I would love to see them win the grand final.

"I can say one thing, if they get to the grand final, I will be the first to buy a ticket and support them."

Bulldogs have announced the signing of a guy I know quite well... none other than Kane Cleal from South Sydney... :)

I know Kane from my old highschool, was a decent player when playing with the HS side... and a decent player when playing with the Parra, Manly and Souths sides... hopefully at the Bulldogs he can full develop...

From: www.bulldogs.com.au

The Mitsubishi Electric Bulldogs have signed up Kane Cleal for two years.

Cleal, the son of former Australian representative Noel 'Crusher' Cleal, is currently with the Rabbitohs after spending 2004 and 2005 at the Sea Eagles.

Bulldogs coach Steve Folkes commented, "Kane will add to our depth in the forwards and with a good off-season of training at the Club I think we will see the best of him in 2007."

P.S. Word from Aaron, the Bulldogs Web Head is that The Doggies are going to announce the signing of a very experienced NRL player tomorrow... mmm... looking forward to that... :)

LOL here's hoping, he needs some attention in the hair department... :lol!:

Nah funny thing is... he looks worse with short hair like a crew cut... I remember him having one back in the day when he was at the same school as me... I think the long hair works much better... ;)

He needs to go down to his local babar, get a #3 all over, if he doesn't like the look, he can wear head gear, there is simply no room for hair styles like that in the NRL

Jon Green re-signs with the Bulldogs... good to see we keep some of our up and coming talent.. :D :D

From:www.bulldogs.com.au

Promising forward Jon Green has re-signed with the Bulldogs for the 2007 season.

Green, 21, came to the Club for the 2006 season and enjoyed an early call up into first grade for the round five game against the Raiders.

Unfortunately knee injuries slowed his progess and he has been out for the rest of the season.

Coach Steve Folkes commented, "We were happy to sign Jon up for another year. He has promise but has experienced some bad luck with injuries this year."
