Yeah I've really liked how he is playing for Tweed. Links well with the halves too. You mention it and I agree the one part of his game he needs to be better is he loses a few tackles by ending up on his back but he's got a lot of improvement in him still. Defs a first grader

A little off topic but related to the Rabbits game. I am part of the half time entertainment tonight. I have known for a few days but didn’t want to highlight it for fear of embarrassment. Yep, I am one of the NEDS (attempt) to catch a ball suckers. I hope my knees hold up and that I don’t totally stuff it up and make a fool of myself. Part of the prize is an evening in the NEDS lounge so no shorts or thongs. So I will be wearing jeans and slip on shoes (no traction in the dew) so could be interesting.

South Sydney veteran Benji Marshall is poised to match the record for NRL first-grade games by a Kiwi, when he takes the field against Gold Coast Titans on Friday.

Marshall, 36, has been named on the Rabbitohs interchange bench for their visit to Queensland and will make his 331st appearance, equalling the mark currently held by former Wests Tigers teammate Adam Blair.

If Proctor's not going to bother to play a lick of defense out there and provide some sort of stability on that edge like his one and only job is, might as well just play someone that can do something on attack other than stifle our momentum. Thoroughly impressed with McIntyre, deserves a spot in the 17, actually looks like a perfect back-rower for the modern game, fairly quick, and showed flashes of passing ability. I was kinda happy with a lot of the team tonight individually, other than the obvious KP, Wall and Sami, but losing the second half 30-6 concerns me about factors deeper than just the construction of our 17 such as hubris and discipline.

Wallace was not gassed when he gave away the six again and the try in the second half. He was only on the field for a couple of minutes. It was simply a lack of discipline and it happened with Corey also. What the coach says and does about it is of more concern to me. But the biggest disappointment to me this year is Fogarty. He is totally predictable ( pass, pass, pass); he does not have the defence guessing because he doesn’t run to the line. His kicks do not vary...they travel for about 30 metres and that’s it. Give Sexton this year against men and bring him in next year.

One of the big problems is Fogerty kicking game can only goes 30 metres so our defence is always under pressure. Whilst our defence in the 2nd half was largely due to lack of effort, it was also attributable to the lack of distance of Fogerty.

We need to go big and get a half who has a big kicking game. Moses and Reynolds I would be putting in big offers for next year

Proctor was awful and as mentioned started the rot with his stripped ball and mistakes. If every player made that many errors we would get the spoon. Also it’s not like he’s Peachey doing something skilful! It’s just stupid stuff. I would love fermor to get a run.
Our halves are average but luckily it’s Taylor’s last year and Fogarty isn’t on much.
Fifita was absolutely incredible and should be playing for his country. McIntyre looked dangerous with some good footwork for a big guy. Also has some aggression which our team needs. Thompson is the best and most of the team put in a really good effort.

Surely Mo will not get time because of that tackle, although he should get time for stupidity. Any slight chance we had went when he gave them the chance to go 8 in front. Mo has been a huge disappointment so far this year but I think he will come good as he just needs to learn.
Cook just showed why we need a good hooker. Controlled the game in the second half. Ash had a big 20 minutes but then he and Fogarty were back to being bog average.

Devastated by the result like others, but my major takeaway from this game is we have a hell of a coaching staff. We identified in first half Bunnies have a condensed defensive line , particularly defending close to our line. We exploited that perfectly, but unfortunately through lack of possession couldn’t go on with the job.

McIntyre impressed, Fermor needs a run and we need a centre option opposite BK.

1. When Rein runs from Dummy half he needs to run with more power and strength, it's like Harry Grant in slow motion
2. AJ Brimson used to play in the halves put in the halves take Ash or Jamal out either one. Put Corey Thompson fullback the more times he touches the ball the better. Brimson is too slow for fullback I think because of his injury in origin.
3. Wallace tries to do an offload all the time or passes the ball. Run straight and hard just like Lisone and Moe. You are not David Taylor and we don't need Taylor.
4. Phillip Sami why did Wayne Bennett pick him in Origin and then drop him from the 3rd game. Corey Thompson should have got picked.
5. Get Albert Kelly in here or fix the halves. Our halves are both slow and can't clear the ball.
6. Why did we resign Erin Clark. Take the ball from Dummy Half and pass it or run don't get the ball and do a Michael Lichaa and pretend you are lost after grabbing the ball and walking around.
7. Brian Kelly why pass the ball early to Thompson take the line on. Brian Kelly used to be so dangerous now. Look at James Roberts he is in a **** team but at least he is running around.
8. Kevin Proctor go to the front row we need people who just take the ball up and do nothing fancy - unlike Jarrod Wallace pretending he is Sonny Bill all the time.

Nice first post CT. Your comments on our hookers are bang on the money. I think what it comes down to is neither of options are terribly smart players. Rein does the odd decent run and has some good service but gets confused what to do at times, especially when there is a late offload, and more often than not just gets caught in procession behind where the offload was made. Clarke on the other has bad service and pushes the defence sideways because he first movements are always across the field.

One thing that I thought was glaringly obvious last night was we don’t push up and support players. It’s predominantly one out stuff. South’s do it really well, where if someone is running in behind the ruck, there are three other players with them ready to take a pass if needed. AJ is nowhere to be seen in and around the ruck and our halves are even further away setting up for the next play. If we attack down the short side around the ruck there needs to be minimum of either AJ or Ash following Rein and his forward option.

Don is about to be the worlds luckiest players next week. I’m fairly certain that if he was defending on that right side the result would have been exactly the same, although he might of got fed up at one point and gone for an intercept play at one point which may or may not have worked. Both Sami and Pearson have been trash while Don has been away. It frustrates me so much. What it does confirm though is that we need to look to the future for wingers because our current crop apart from Thompson are not NRL standard.

I hate to say it but I think with Don on that right wing we don’t concede as many tries down that edge. Sami’s responsibility is to number those short sides off quick PTB’s and he got it wrong every time, and then executed terribly wrong with his spacing and movements as well. It honestly looked like he had never played wing before and didn’t know how to work with his inside men at all. Just so bad.

I’m ok with our support play and think AJ was good again at this aspect. Probably one of the only things I’m generally happy with, along with Fifita & Thompson’s efforts. Watching these guys put in performances like that and still take home the L is killer and not the reward they deserve. Must be incredibly deflating for the morale too.

Well that was like watching two games. The great one before the bad one. That made the crash to Earth so much harder. We were suffocated with no ball. We need to beat contenders to be a contender and we let this slip away.

I couldn't help by marvel and be proud of Benji. What a story. His game was magic and really took us back in time. I've wanted to sign Benji for years and I think we really missed out if he was willing to move from Sydney.

Fifita. I've never seen someone play like this before. He shouldn't just play for Australia, but Planet Earth! The Galaxy!

Thompson continues to show amazing determination and urgency. He is like the new Nathan Friend to me. He embodies the club spirit. Different position, but same heart.

Maybe as "Corey Thompson" above says we should/could look at Corey at fullback and Brimson in the halves. Something has to be done eventually at this rate.

It's hard to believe that the Mo in 2021 is the same player as last year. Where he was our most consistent and dependable player.

They said that about many fullbacks including Darren Lockyer. Sometimes it isn't about what is a player's best position but what is best for the team. I'd prefer him to remain at fullback.

Just wanted to add that I thought our coach’s press conference was the best losing interview I’ve ever sat through. He really is a fine ambassador for our Club. He’s incredibly personable and reasonable ... any comparison to Brennan is truly ridiculous. He publicly stood by the players, avoided the Wallace question deftly and even though I’m sure he has players he’s going to ar$e-kick never threw anybody under the bus ... total respect for him and as was mentioned earlier the first half was his, the second half the players. Great coach.

Just watched the game again and seeing our right edge with their backs turned to the attack before the late offload try is just so sickening.

Chris Sutton.. Refereed us 28 times for 11 wins and 17 losses. 39% winning percentage. Percentages do come down to how well the team is going on any given season. In 2011 when we got our first spoon he didn’t ref us at all and the other year, 2019 he refereed us 3 times for 1 win and 2 losses. So he is worse than Perenara.

The biggest problem with that is literally every sides left edge is their strong side. Just off the top of my head Penrith, Storm, Souths, us, Knights, Raiders all favour their left so we really need to be strong defensively there, especially when that edge isn’t doing much in attack for us. Another issue is we really need to bring Fermor in but he seems to prefer playing on the left as well
