It's going to be weird watching footy with no crowd noise. Can you imagine actually playing at NRL level...in an empty stadium??

Maybe the should play crowd noise through the speakers for some atmosphere lol

Try celebrations should be interesting!

Soccer have been doing for a couple of weeks now. Problem they may have is what is picked up on the microphones from the players etc. at least we will hear every hit. I’m guessing it will be like this till the virus hits the teams. Then it will be postponed.

People viewing rugby league for the first time would be shocked. You can hear some collisions now over the ambient noise...it will be quite audible in the quiet of an empty stadium. Like you say...add in the blunt language and some people tuning in for the first time would find the event horribly brutal! LOL!!!

I'm looking forward to it now!! :p

If they want to make it truly immersive, have the coaches on the side lines so we can hear them bark.

The Clayton's Season ... empty stadiums, suspended games (this is coming for sure and certain as soon as a player is diagnosed with it), clubs going broke, sponsors and broadcasters withdrawing ... we are all in a bit of whoopsie, me thinks.

The only positive in the global economy is "fan power" and we have less of it than others ... the time to stand-up is coming, lads and lassies.

Eels: Come into this clash on a 10-day turnaround with no major injury concerns.

Titans: Also have a long nine-day turnaround but a number of players picked up knocks in the Raiders game with Ashley Taylor (shoulder), Tyrone Roberts (shoulder), Tyrone Peachey (leg), Brian Kelly (concussion), Kevin Proctor (shoulder), Sam Lisone (knock) and Bryce Cartwright (shoulder) all expected be right to play. Moeaki Fotuiaka (knee) hopes to return whilst Shannon Boyd (shoulder), Keegan Hipgrave (concussion), Ryan James (ACL), Beau Fermor (ACL) and AJ Brimson (back) are all unavailable due to injury. Jai Arrow played limited minutes last week due to illness.

I feel that we are running out the same **** as last week and no one has been brought to answer for their lack of performance. Our **** keep their spots and our good get booted out of the 17 or demoted to a two man utility bench. We’re trying to fit a salary cap on the field.

Hope this season is cancelled and it counts as a year in everyone’s contracts.

Jolliffe out MoFo in and a minor re-shuffle of Kelly for Peachey ... not unexpected but we are going to get owned in the half’s. Another step towards selection carnage by Round 4, is my prediction. I feel Watkins is a safe investment likewise Taylor but Don and Roberts aren’t.

Nailed it Titanic. I'm assuming that Joliffe can only play if there is no other front row forwards available because of the development contract clause. It's a shame he was much better than Wallace last week.

Watkins was very good defensively last week and saved our butt on a few occasions with his extra effort. The halves need to figure out how to give him some space or at least allow him to get one on one with the opposition. He's the victim of our halves and his second rower not straightening the line.

Tyrone Roberts, when will we learn?

Whats Doing
17-03-20, 10:21 PM
If you look at Watkins feeble tackle attempt on Whitehead and then when he missed, then made no effort in chasing him to atone for his bad error is last years teams abysmal attitude. Whilst I accept mistakes can be made, I don’t accept no effort being made to make up for the mistake.

I have no time for players with poor attitudes and moreso with players with questionable ability. With his distinct lack of pace, I cannot see how he could score a try more than 20 metres out.

Titanic
18-03-20, 12:32 AM
Have to agree to disagree on Watkins. There are few really good specialists centers around and Watkins at least knows how to put someone away ... I think with a quality finisher outside him, a defensive back row and a creative half then he would more than hold his own.

Hit and run charter mission on cards for Eels
https://www.nrl.com

The Parramatta Eels are set for another hit and run mission on the Gold Coast with Brad Arthur's men set to fly into Coolangatta on Sunday morning before facing the Titans later in the afternoon.

It's not unknown for the Eels, who did the same thing last season in a bid to help combat a difficult away 2-7 away record and were successful to run out 36-12 winners.

Whether the Eels would've followed through and requested the same pre-game scheduling is another story with the coronavirus pandemic virtually taking the decision out of their hands.

It's understood all teams flying domestically could be chartered for fly-in-fly-out scenarios on match days where necessary to keep stays in cities as brief as possible.

The 5.15pm local time-slot gives the Eels enough time to get back into Sydney before airport curfew on Sunday night.

"It's a little bit different, we did it last year when we played the Gold Coast so it won't be too different, maybe just not playing in front of a crowd," Eels halfback Mitchell Moses said.

"I think it will feel a bit different, sometimes when you're in games and on top fans can get you through the last bit. It gives us a chance to focus on ourselves and we'll see how that goes."

Melbourne Storm skipper Cameron Smith and North Queensland counterpart Michael Morgan have called for the NRL season to be suspended in recent days but Moses remains eager for teams to play on.

"I think we all want to play but everyone's different, the team in Melbourne travels a lot and are open to the virus more," Moses said.

"They're in large groups around airports, I think that's where Cameron Smith is coming from which is understandable and Michael Morgan as well."

Eels back-rower Ryan Matterson conceded jetting in on game day would be a new experience. He said the whole situation around coronavirus had brought its challenges.

"It's difficult, different and awkward for everyone in the world really, we're not the only ones going through it," Matterson said.

"It's hard because we're a contact sport, we're shaking hands and tackling. It's hard to stop that stuff.

"The season only just kicked off and we want to keep it rolling."

As for the lack of crowd atmosphere, the 25-year-old offered some perspective.

"Every game you're playing for two points, back in my under 20s days there were about 100 people in the crowd, if that, so we've all been there," Matterson said.

"There's no one in the stands but you've got something to prove."

NRL.com Preview: Titans v Eels: Peachey on bench; Arthur retains same 17
https://www.nrl.com/

It's only round two but the Titans have to make a statement on home turf after going down to the Raiders last week.

They looked like they were in for a hiding at half-time but a couple of positional changes worked in their favour and rookie coach Justin Holbrook will be looking to build on what was a promising second-half performance.

Titans fans endured a miserable 2019 campaign and might quickly lose interest in 2020 if they don't like what they see on Sunday night.

The Eels opened their 2020 campaign with a win over the Bulldogs but had to fight every inch of the way and will be looking to improve in a few areas against the Titans.

Titans: Tyrone Peachey has been dropped to the bench, with Brian Kelly getting the nod to start in the centres. Moeaki Fotuaika has taken Jaiman Jolliffe's place on the bench, while AJ Brimson (back) and Shannon Boyd (shoulder) are a chance to return on Sunday after being included as reserves.

Eels: Coach Brad Arthur would've been pleased to see none of his players picked up any injuries in the bruising round one clash with the Bulldogs. Parra will line up with the same 17-man team.

Key match-up
Ash Taylor had some bright moments against the Raiders but probably wasn't involved enough in the first half when the game got away from the Titans. Mitch Moses wasn't able to put his stamp on the game against the Bulldogs in the manner he would've liked and will be keen for an improved showing against Taylor.

Where it'll be won and lost
The battle of the halves could be decisive, while Holbrook has to give Tyrone Peachey the green light to trust his instincts and take what the defence gives him. The Titans have to match Parra up front and look for Phil Sami to create space with his lethal left step. The Eels will be looking for big wingers Blake Ferguson and Maika Sivo to get involved as often as possible, while speedy centres Michael Jennings and Waqa Blake have to be closely marked.

Brett Kimmorley says
I didn't see anything from the Titans last week that suggested much has changed. They missed a lot of tackles, and I think once you highlight that on a video Parramatta can take advantage. The Eels were poor as well in round one, but they'll have a higher completion rate this game I imagine. If they earn the right to play football, I think they've got plenty of points in them. Eels by 14.

Stat Attack
Mitch Moses had a perfect day with the boot in last year's only game between the Eels and Titans, kicking six from six. Parra led 12-6 at half-time in that round 22 clash and overpowered the home team after the break to prevail 36-12. Mid-season recruit Waqa Blake scored twice for the Eels.

And another thing…
Justin Holbrook is the Titans' seventh coach since the club joined the NRL in 2007. John Cartwright was in charge from 2007-14, followed by Neil Henry (2014-17). Garth Brennan was at the helm in 2018 and a portion of 2019, while Craig Hodges (2017, '19), Luke Burt ('19) and Terry Matterson ('17) have all had short stints as interim coaches.

I agree. Did a great job last week and does all of the little things well.

I'm fine with this weeks side. I honestly think we've seen a bit of an over-reaction on here in response to last week against a very good Canberra Raiders side and I'll be reserving my judgement on certain players until we're a few rounds in. For now I'll trust the coaching staff to set the expectations and manage that accordingly.

It maybe a new season but its still the same players disappointing. So to reserve judgement till later seems strange considering we have been able to make judgement based on what we have seen from the same failures for two years and coming into a third.

Happy to have egg on my face but when Wallace dropped that first hit up all hope left my body that he is anything but the same bum as last year. List goes on.

Happy to agree to disagree. I think that new coaching staff, new structure, new combinations and having viewed only 80 minutes of football against one of the best sides in the comp is reasonable grounds to reserve judgement on certain player's place in the team for now.

Agree that watching Wallace was frustrating and I'd say he doesn't have long to prove himself with Mo back in the frame.

Completely see your point, I hope that it doesn't take another 80 mins of Taylors and Cartwrights defense for action to come from the coaches box. Problem there is that our bench doesn't allow for changes on the run. Our extended bench has Stone ahead of Farmer and our coach is looking forward to S Boyd returning. If the NRL shuts down, first thing Holbrook needs to do is watch every Titans game from last year.

I wish it was that easy. I am sure he has watched games from last year but that was when they were playing under a coach that they didn't like and he has stated that he is happy with the roster.
I think he will persist with them for a bit longer unfortunately, until he proves to himself that he can't make them better.
I watched Holbrook's interview on NRL 360 and when he was asked what was required to unlock Ash he said that Ash needed to want to improve. Will be very interesting to see if he can get Taylor back to his best but I have my doubts.

Same mistake other coaches have made and the club ended up siding with the riff raff that have done nothing for a couple of years at the expense of the coach. Not say Brennan hurt us but he is far less toxic than the players are.

Five big NRL questions for the Gold Coast Titans for Round 2
https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/

THE single biggest question for the Titans for Round 2 may be around the impact of a stadium lockout and coronavirus, the Bulletin looks at five on-field queries that need answering.

UTILITY VALUE

Mitch Rein and Nathan Peats shared the hooking duties in Round 1 but can this continue all season?

With outside back Brian Kelly on the bench, plus the fact Tyrone Peachey can play just about anywhere, and there are a few puzzle pieces that need sorting.

YOUNG GUNS

Yes, Ryan James was missing and so the heat falls on the other senior heads like Kevin Proctor and Tyrone Roberts.

But if we learnt anything from Round 1 it’s that Phillip Sami (pictured) is improving and AJ Brimson, if we didn’t already suspect it, is the club’s best attacking weapon despite sitting out the contest.

So how do the Titans make the most of these exciting talents?

“They are the future of our club and the guys we want to keep hold of. We were missing keys guys in Round 1 but I’m confident with our players,” rookie Titans coach Justin Holbrook said.

HALF THE BATTLE

Beyond any questions about Ash Taylor is the fact the club must find the right combo in their spine.

Is Brimson (pictured, right) better in the halves?

If so, what happens to Tyrone Roberts (pictured, left) or Taylor?

Give it a few more rounds but pressure will build quickly as to who should play where.

SLOW START

For all the hard work in pre-season, the opening phase against the Raiders was bad.

The slow start continued a sorry trend from last season, one which often saw the Titans slip behind early and fail to truly recover.

So how do you address that?

“It was definitely disappointing. Prior to the game we had done everything right,” Holbrook said on Fox League’s NRL 360.

“We got it wrong early in the first 15 minutes and that cost us.

“To start the way we did was disappointing. We looked like we weren’t ready to play. If you don’t start well I think it’s your preparation.”

TAYLOR’S TARGET

Like it or not, the Titans halfback is a marked man by rivals and his own fans.

Ash Taylor didn’t enjoy the best start to the season against the Raiders so mercilessly, he will be bombarded with questions about his own form until he’s considered to be paying his way. “He’s got to help himself,” coach Holbrook said this week.

“His pre-season has been great and he’s changed his diet and he’s working hard. All the evidence is there that he’s going to have a great season. I need more from him and he knows that.”

Five Talking Points - Titans vs Eels
https://www.titans.com.au/

Head Coach Justin Holbrook has had his final say ahead of tomorrow’s match against the Parramatta Eels at Cbus Super Stadium.

Here are five talking points ahead of the clash:

1. Team Changes

It looks like the side will be 1-17 with last year’s Paul Broughton Medal winner Moeaki Fotuaika set to make his first appearance of season 2020.

“Yeah, everyone is good and we’re right for tomorrow’s game,” Holbrook said.

“He’s sweet which is great. He’s raring to go.

“He’s had a good couple of weeks of training and he’ll be a great addition for us this week.”

2. The coronavirus pandemic

“Nothing’s changed other than us taking more precautions around us doing things here.

“Once we get in here everything is normal which is great.

“When they (the players) go home they need to take more precautions in that area but in terms of when we’re here it’s just a normal week.

3. What needs to change after last week

“We didn’t start the game well and that’s definitely what we need to improve on.

“Collectively we all need to play better than last week which is real important.

“The preparation is different because we’re not travelling. We probably didn’t handle that well as a group last week.

“In terms of this week we’re at home so it’s a different scenario for us. We’ll be ready to go.”

4. No members and fans in attendance

“I think it might be running out (a bit different). I think players just get on with it.

“There have been some really good games already this weekend and we’re expecting no different tomorrow.

“The crowds are a great addition (to our game) but without them the game still goes on and it’s great for our game that it is.”

5. The dangers from Parramatta

“They’re a great side, they showed it last year. They’ve got strike all across the park and we know we’ll need to match them, which we’re planning on doing.

“They’ve got a good pack of forwards who like to offload the footy. (Mitch) Moses is doing a real good job and had a good season last year. He’s come out of the blocks well this year as well.

“There is strike across the park and they’ve got fair wingers as well.

“For us it’s about being proud of the way we play. We let ourselves down last week and we have a chance to turn it around tomorrow.”

Those tackle stats indicate to me that we weren’t utilising Rein properly. 53 tackles is a huge amount so it’s no wonder he was making errors towards the end of the game. For me, Rein is most effective coming off the bench with his darts out of dummy half. This means Peats starts, tackles his heart out, and Rein comes on around 20-25 mins.

GCTTSD
22-03-20, 12:55 PM
Yea I feel like peats should start when his strengths are his defence and intensity while reins best attribute is his running game so he should come on after 20 and oaky till like the 60th minute or something

Titans get their Mo-jo back
https://www.nrl.com/

Club champion Moeaki Fotuaika will return for the Gold Coast as coach Justin Holbrook warned his team needed a collective approach to fix their poor start when they face leading premiership contenders Parramatta on Sunday.

Fotuaika missed last week's season-opening loss to Canberra due to off-season knee and wrist surgery but has trained strongly this week and will play off the bench as the Titans look to get their 2020 firing with their first home game at Cbus Super Stadium.

The powerful front-rower was the Titans' best player in 2019, averaging 133 metres and 50 post-contact metres per game, to be crowned their Paul Broughton Medallist. His return will add some grunt to a forward pack that will need to be at its best in the face of a versatile Eels team.

"Mo is back this week which is great," Holbrook said.

"He is raring to go and has had a couple of really good weeks at training now so he will be a great addition for us."

Holbrook expects a big turnaround in attitude from his team this week against the Eels. They trailed 18-0 by half-time in the loss to the Raiders and were behind by the same deficit in their last trial game against the Broncos before storming to victory.

The coach is prepared to put last Saturday's sleepy start down to a poor road trip to Canberra, but says there will be no excuses for being slow out of the blocks at home.

"We said after the game we didn't start the game well and that is definitely something we need to improve on," Holbrook said.

"The preparation is different because we're not travelling. I think we didn't handle that well as a group last week, that is what I put it down to.

"In terms of this week we're at home, it's a different scenario again for us and we will be ready to go.

"I just thought collectively early in the game we were flat and that was the most disappointing thing, if we fix that up it will be okay.

"For us it's just about being proud of the way we play. I think we let ourselves down last week and from what I've seen all preseason, the trials and the Nines, that is not what we displayed last week and we have a chance tomorrow to do that."

If we get another game this season we have to start with one Hooker & Tanah Boyd to play the utility role, AJ to 1, Sami for Copley, Pearson for Don, Boyd for Wallace, also has anyone noticed that Lisone is a professional Flopper 3rd or 4th in......

Firstly my apologies mate. I agreed with all your pre game posts and watched as the apologists hammered you, but I couldn't be stuffed replying and copping it as well.

Now, on to that farce. Firstly did anyone honestly expect much this season when we have almost the same side as last year. I think we all know that 14 blokes are off contract and we need many of them out of the place to give Holbrook a chance to rebuild this team.

So, on to today and what has already been posted about Wallace is spot on. The drop in performance from him is beyond words. Taylor has now proven to be a shallow dud - overpaid and full of excuses. Roberts - injury prone and way past it. Peats and Rein - we spend a lot of time on here commenting who is better and who should start. The truth is both are very average and we need a decent hooker. And if Holbrook has them both in the 17 again I'll, well why bother. Sami - a winger at best. Watkins - finish up and go back home. Canberra have raided the Super League and done great whereas our last two poms have been poor. Proctor - works hard and I'd probably keep him although his form since leaving the Storm has gone massively down hill. Cartwright - yet another article this weekend about how he loves it here and wants to play his career out up here. Sorry mate, not on $600k a year or half that. Peachey - I'd keep him but he is also on thin ice. Boyd - the worst signing in our history in my book.
Bring on 2021.

Pretty simple for me, our lack of ability to complete sets meant we didn;t have the stamina to defende for 80 minutes. We were solid on the line for a long time but if you keep gifting the opposition the ball you will get creamed eventually.

Quick question, if the Corona Virus shuts down the NRL for about 18 months does that mean contracts will have expired and we can look at who we actually need for this team rather than legacy players? ;)

Bloody hell
What to say
Jesus

Alright Copley/Roberts tissue paper hurts our chances
The Sydney Referees calling 6 to go when I fart in my lounge room hurts our chances.
The Sydney Referees calling marginal pens against us and not doing likewise to Parramatta hurts our chances.
The Sydney Bunker not reversing our challenge at a key moment hurt our chances.
Add in the multitude of handling errors then it adds up to a mighty poo sandwich.
I see straight forward handling errors like those committed by Kelly, Rein, Wallace, Peachey as them expressing to the team, members, owners and coaches that “I don’t respect you and my jumper and club enough to pay attention to detail and concentrate but I’ll take your money”.

Throw all that together and you have the floodgates inevitably opening.
I’ve played in some bad teams back in the day and when the floodgates open they are near impossible to close again.

I actually up to about the 60min Mark was strangely heartened by the commitment.
But yeah at the end of the day the score line once again is an embarrassment to every one of us and we have to wear that.

14 off contract. Pretty much all need to go. Go and invest in youth and this Coaching Group Holbrook/Lenihan/Dymock backed to the hilt is the only way to go.

They got Henry and Brennan but that’s over with now.
Embarrassing players who enjoy our beautiful working man’s city and the money and life we give then......give back and perform or F Off somewhere else.

Complete disgrace of a team, only good thing is this season will be gone NRL will shut down they will have no choice. And am hoping it happens and the NRL fold. SO then we can get someone else set up a new comp that is run better then what this shambolic basket case of a so called business is doing now.

With you there Bodsie ... Henry/Brennan both fell for the two-card trick; "pick me, I can deliver for you" and then "player power". This time I'm sticking with Holbrook & Co.

And for Smakkas: here are some choices:

(1) How about we cut the comp to 12 clubs, pay everybody squillions because China will love it and call it something cliched like ... ah let me think ... yes, I've got it ... Super League or
(2) Perhaps we should expand it to 24 clubs, pay everybody a pittance while they toil away as brickies and call it the QuayleRL or better still
(3)Why not make it a Titanic Comp and divide it into Premier (16 clubs), First Division (16 clubs from the ISC comps plus other states and Pacific nations), have promotion and relegation, and sell the rights to a two-tiered, truly national competition with so much more media friendly content.

Holbrook really needs to weild the axe and send a message to the players or else he will end up just like Brennan. Roberts symbolises everything about the Brennan era he's not good enough for first grade, Fogarty should be upgraded and straight in the team or play Boyd. Ash should probably retire hestill looks like he doesn't want to be there or take control of the team and do the basics that a halfback should. Our forward pack looks good on paper but always seems to get overpowered and outmuscled I think that comes down to effort and intensity, we really lack leadership out on the field.

I agree that there needs to be a paradigm shift in the short term and that comes from the coach and his selections. Don't be shy.

I agree about players being dropped, but there is no reserve grade to get form back. So once dropped you probably stay dropped barring injuries. A good thing you all say, but no way a dropped player gets any confidence back whilst not playing the game. I think this scenario will go through Holbrook’s mind so don’t expect too much axe wielding.

I appreciate the club trying to have a sense of humour and give people a laugh during this tough time.

Whats Doing
23-03-20, 10:07 AM
It is type of players we have recruited is the problem. In the forwards there is not one forward that you could say apart from Mo that is both powerful and has great leg speed. This enables the players to dominate the collision in both attack and defence. These are the physical qualities that players should have before we recruit a player and our development staff should be identifying and ensuring they are ones contracted to the club. The Broncos have been working towards this for the last few years and have now a bucket load of players where not one player doesn’t fit this bill.

Well that was painful to say the least. Out of frustration I couldn't post until now however, in saying that I'd love to know why Taylor is copping a bit of flack for that game. I thought his defence was improved and he assisted our only try. Bit harsh to mention the knock on from the garbage delivery from Rein although I do find it hard to believe how an NRL team can drop so many cold very early in the tackle count. Rein and Wallace were probably the worst for me and if Rein isn't dropped I am at a loss for words after last week. After calming down a bit, the defence for the 20 minutes after halftime was solid and if we'd have managed to hold the ball at all would've had a good chance. I would love to see Tanah over Roberts and Peats or Clark (I'm not up to date on whether he's like Fogarty and can't play yet) take the no.9 jersey. Get an extra forward on our bench for Rein and I would be more than happy. I know it was tough to watch but I honestly reckon after some hard calls we could match the Broncos next week.

edit: Loving Jolliffe's work and need more players willing to prove themselves like him. Also agree with WD above about the leg speed. I swear we got a bunch of plodders.

Tino fits that bill. Lisone has been ok in that regard too. I think the new coaches understand what you're saying but they haven't had time to turn the roster over. Imagine we land Fifita, is this even a problem from 2021?

I've lost circulation in my fingers from having them crossed for so long waiting for Fifita to sign...

How is big Tino going so far? Anyone been watching him?

Solid bench forward in a quality well drilled team, anyone expecting him to come here and be a leader/saviour in his first year is kidding themselves, won’t replace half an Arrow (yet).

Is anyone expecting that though? Outside of a spine player like DCE or Pearce, no player is going to have an effect like that. Tino is just an example of the direction our recruitment is going in.

Does anyone seriously think Fifta's any chance of coming here after yesterday? I had the slightest bit of hope before, but why would he come here when we've been towelled up by 40 in just round 2. Especially when the Broncos will probably do a number on us this week, he'd be laughing at the idea of joining us

My thoughts completely. The only way I would come to the Titans, if I were him, was if it was promised we were buying a whole new team. Give or take a couple of players)

It's a strange situation, but I wonder if being dropped might have an even bigger effect now. Instead of heading off to play with another side in a lesser comp...in these strange times it's different.

Having lost your spot to a more enthusiastic team mate...you now have to sit through video with that team mate, train with that team mate...and on game day...sit there and watch that team mate perform. (Unless you wimp out and stay home, leaving your mates to battle alone, exposing your pea heart)

If that didn't put a fire in your guts to get your spot back, then it would probably expose your not really caring to be here.

I think, considering it's only round 3...the virus threat to stop the comp at anytime...the need for the new coach to stamp his authority...it's not only worth doing, it's a must.

Let's hope it isn't our last game ever! It was looking more and more impossible for the NRL to continue with convoluted plans which would so quickly be undone by 1 corona case.

I guess we just stick tight and lick our wounds. And look after our own lives and the community.

With Someone who has more talent than a player from an under 16’s 2nds team from Western Australia.

We have so many untried forwards. After last night we could use more utilities on the bench. Possibilities of reshuffles are endless.

that was brutal.

the defence actually held for a long long time before cracking and it totally broke their spirit, but its their own fault so im not making excuses.

ball control was disgusting.

Only players i think could hold head up high was Arrow and Sami who isn't a fullback but was still giving it all.

Rein has won the battle over the highly paid 'name' player peats... and then totally shat himself on the big stage when he gets his chance.

Luge Page has more heart in his little finger than most of our pack.

Roberts is the ultimate passenger right now.

no need to stay negative, but Holbrook has to decide how long he is 'with the players' and when he needs to start social distancing himself from them for his own careers sake and make the tough calls.

Finish with 2 positives

- when we DID hold the ball, we made huge metres up the middle when trying to make yeards. strong running with a support player for a tip on, or pass out the back was braining them until we started dropping it,

- line speed, intensity, and numbers in tackles seem a huge improvement this year, almost to a fault. i wonder if that level of 'attack' defence is gassing the boys.

anyways, wish they never started this season, and the ONLY silver lining is that Holbrook has seen the difference between good training and our piss poor efforts in the real games, and can work hard on it before the next round.
