From qrl.com.au

A mix of rising young stars, experienced Cup campaigners and a sprinkling of worldly travellers will make the Tweed Heads Seagulls their home next season.

Inaugural Queensland Under 20 State of Origin representative Brandon Tago (Roosters NYC) and Macauley Dawson, Nathan Portelli and Ethan Price (all from the Gold Coast NYC) head the contingent of young players, while Doug Hewitt (Mackay Cutters), Sam Meskell (Burleigh Bears) and Mark Offerdahl (Illawarra Cutters) have all been Cup regulars.

A number of players will be returning “home” to the club after stints away, with Shaun Carney (Norths Devils), Jake Leary (Illawarra Cutters) and Tom Dawney (Philadelphia Fight) amongst those coming back to the coast.

While the list of gains is extensive, the Seagulls have a lot of experience to make up, with skipper Matt King (retired), Cory Blair (Bilambil) and Tom Merritt (NSW Sevens) just some of the key players who have parted with the club in the off-season.

Young NZ boy who trialled for the NYC squad will play Colts for Tweed. No names feel free to figure it out for yourselves

Expect the Seagulls Colts side to be very impressive in 2015, with a few boys from NZ and NSW country coming into the side, maybe a few who could find themselves around the NYC squad by the end of the year, especially in the outside backs

Anyone know how the Seagulls Colts went in the weekend??

Burleigh Fogs colts went down to Sunshine Coast, but QCup won convincingly.

LG with a try and a few try assists to go with it. If highlights are anything to go by then he's handled the step up to Qcup well, good to see

Looked like a good hit out for Tweed & LG looked to handle it with ease , some very good short balls from Big Sirro & a few big shots too

LG looked like he had plenty of time and seemed to be in control, it shouldn't be long before he is plying this in the NRL

Mini update. Seagulls up 12-6 at half time. It is now raining heavily.
Elgey has scored a try and nearly set up another. He was however a little indecisive in defence and it resulted in a North's try. Levi Li and Crampton looking good as well.

Yeah Elgey started a bit dogdy but hes been improving. Crampton just scored his second, he looks like a beast!

I can now see why folks are calling for LG's NRL debut.

Elgey on fire. Just fained a kick, was under pressure, ran himself and another try assist. Where is this being played? Is this the weather I'm about to head into at Robina?

Nice instinctive play on the last by Elgey. Defence rushed up to put pressure on the kick and he tucked it in and ran, hit the support runner who bulldozer's 3 defenders for another try.

Crampton now has 3 tries. Nice footwook close to the line and strength to push his way in.

And he's (LG) converting it from the sideline in conditions that looks like someone left the sprinklers on for a week.

Good game by those already mentioned. Notable mention to Pasi as well. Nice and strong up the middle. Was good to hear the commentators saying that Crampton should be given a chance in the NRL in the next few weeks.

I can see why he has the wraps that he does but I can also see why he needs a little time in Q cup. Once he gets his defensive reads down he will be in. For me his best position for the Titans right now is off the bench. Once he gets some time up it is a straight swap for him with Mortimer, or Sezer if he doesn't get his game sorted out.
I am not happy with the bench option being a specialist hooker, it is a waste of an interchange.

Interesting to see Jai Ingram named at centre for Tweed. I've heard he wants to play there as opposed to 2nd row so we'll see how he goes.

I was at the game last Sunday of Tweed Vs PNG - Wow! What a great game it was. Tweed should have won, but couldn't kick a goal after Jacks was knocked out early.

Matt White played well, but got put on report near the end of the game.

Jai Ingram had a slow start, but got more involved in the 2nd half. Spoke to King about him after the game.

Binge played ok. A lot of tackles, not many hit ups. Not a stand out.

Karl Lawton went ok. Not much game time, but he didn't go hiding. IMO, he's nowhere near ready for NRL. Too Small.

Matt Srama said he's still 4 weeks away with his injury.

Tweed colts have a got a good side on paper but are struggling to convert into wins. They got a good win against Wynum on the weekend 28-22 with a heavy influence from Zac Spring and Anthony Colman who are some of our top NYC members but are returning from injuries that sidelined them for weeks. Tweed Colts i believe are 2nd last from the bottom of the ladder

Great win by Tweed against CQ Capras. Ali Grant with two tries, had a wrap on this young bloke since he played for the Titans in CC years ago.
