THE North Queensland Cowboys rounded up the South Sydney Rabbitohs with a belting in their NRL trial match in Mackay tonight.

Movie star and Souths fanatic Russell Crowe sat through the game and must have been left wondering what he is trying to buy into as the Rabbitohs were second in every phase of the match.

From as early as the sixth minute when Matt Sing crossed in the corner it was all Cowboys.

With Johnathan Thurston running the game it came as little surprise when Brett Firman scored a second try and Thurston converted making the halftime score 10-0.

The second half was the Matt Bowen show as he thrilled the crowd with his array of skills scoring four tries in the process.

It's never easy to play up north especially at this time of year & it looks as if Souths found that out in a big way last night. Not a result the Souths coaching staff would've wanted on the eve of the premiership.
