Roosters dump CEO

The upheaval at Sydney Roosters has continued, with chief executive Steve Noyce being sacked.

Noyce told his staff today that he was leaving the organisation, having been at the club since 2008, following a long stint at Wests Tigers.

It's believed the decision to sack Noyce has been made as part of a significant restructure of the club. It follows the sacking of coach Brian Smith, following a disappointing season.

The Roosters finished 13th, and the club appointed Trent Robinson to replace Smith next year, overseeing a roster which is set to include Sonny Bill Williams.

??Stephen is a hard working man of great integrity and honour and his work over the past 4 years has set our club up to move forward in a very solid position,?? Roosters chairman Nick Politis said.

The Roosters are adopting a model whereby the football department will report directly to Easts League chief executive Scott Bennetts. Brian Canavan, the former Roosters chief executive, will return to the club as the football department?s chief operating officer.

??Brian is the most experienced football administrator in the country and his return to the club he loves is a major coup,?? Politis said. ??He will add the knowledge and crucial systems to the football department that is required in the modern game for ultimate success.??

Former club rehab manager Craig Walker will also return to the club as physical performance manager.
