Hi mate, the ISC match is due to be live stamed.
In terms of players, Liam Hamspon ash been good for Tweed and Sean Garner and Corey Alexander for Burleigh
Does anyone know if the Burleigh vs Townsville ISC or 20s games will be live streamed (in-conjunction with the QSSRL U15s tournment). Both games are mouth watering top of the table clashes?
Interesting to see that Burleigh have promoted a number of 20s in to Agrade already, and I noticed Cam Brown has been named on the bench for them. From what Ive seen from both Burleighs ISC and 20s games so far has been very impressive, unfortunately the same cant be said of their MM side (who were very disappointing this year). Im equally intrigued to see if Tweed push any players up to 20s from MM (id assume Bronco contracted players cant play for Tweed??)
Mdrew, any real standouts this year so far from Burleigh and Tweed who arent contracted titans?
A number of talented youngsters were on show in the NRRRL U18 match won by Ballina 44-4 against Evans Heads last weekend. Tweed Heads Seagulls MM Cup front rower James Torrens started and scored a try and talented second rower Jordan Sly scored a try and kicked four goals. He is currently the U18 competitions leading point’s scorer with 28 points in three games.
In his first match of the season, 18 year old centre prospect Edward O’Connor scored a double and kicked three goals as his Tweed Coast side defeated Casino RSM 26-4 last weekend in the NRRRL U18 competition. Outstanding front rower or second rower Oscar Clarke was also in the Tweed Coast side after playing in First Grade the week before.
A couple of former Titans Junior Development Squad members were key contributors for Cudgen in the NRRRL U18 competition last weekend as they defeated Murwillumbah 22-6. Centre Liam Cusack scored a double to make it four tries from four matches to be the equal leading try scorer in the U18 competition. Half Ethan Kane also scored and kicked a conversion and Blake Roberts was also in the Cudgen back line.

It looks certain that Cameron Brown will make his Colts debut for Burleigh off the interchange bench this afternoon against Townsville
Be interesting to see how they use him. They seem to be short a hooker, but with Kai O'Donnell in back row and Reihana Marsh back there may be a late shuffle.
I also see Tevita Falou has been named in Southports Agrade side after playing for Tweed Agrade.
Tweed have also dropped Tony Matautia to Agrade as well
Good to see Jai Whitbread back in the Burleigh QCup for todays match

Ben Liyou is an outstanding talent
Tahne Robinson with a double yesterday for Tweed Coast Raiders in the NRRRL First Grade competition as the Raiders defeated 24-10. The former Titans Junior Development player has been outstanding this season at just 18
It is great to see the ability of 18 year old Tweed Coast Raiders half Tahne Robinson recognised with his selection in the Northern Rivers U23 side for their match this weekend In Lismore against the Greater Northern Tigers. Other talented players in the Northern Rivers U23 side include Cudgen front rower Caleb Ziebell and centre/second row Kalani Hensby, another Tweed Coast Raider. Last weekend Connah Mills scored a double in Cudgen’s 28-24 win over Byron Bay and has now scored six tries from 5 NRRRL First grade matches this season after scoring 17 from ten matches last season. Connah Mills may not be the biggest winger running around but he certainly knows his way to the try line.

He started from the interchange bench but came on and scored two tries as Burleigh defeated Beaudesert 22-6. Larryon Tevita is coming off a solid season for the Burleigh MM Cup side.
The New Zealand born youngster moved over to the Gold Coast in January of this year. The former Kelston Boys High School student was rewarded for a solid season in late 2017 when he was named at lock in the 2017 SAS College team of the year. The majority of players named in the 2017 SAS College team of the year are now in NRL aligned U20 squads so Larryon Tevita’s inclusion certainly highlights his ability on the field against quality opposition and opposition in the main at least a year older than him.
New Burleigh Bears Colts recruit Mikey Williams was named in the centres in the SAS College team of the year as well as the competitions leading try scorer with eight tries to his name.
In 2017 Larryon Tevita played for the Auckland based Glenora Rugby League club, playing a number of matches in the Open U17 competition and also one match in the SAS Fox Memorial Premier First Grade Competition, not bad at all for a 17 year old.

Interesting to see a positional switch for former Titans NYC player and Tweed Heads Seagulls Colt Jordan Birch this weekend with him being named at half back for the Southport Tigers in the Gold Coast Rugby league First Competition for their match this Sunday against Burleigh.
Talented Clarence Coast youngster Jack Lenard is one of a number of young players in the Group One JRL competition having an outstanding start to the 2018 season. Through his first three matches in the U14 competition he has scored five tries including doubles against Casino RSM and Kyogle and he also scored against Grafton which contained Titans Development Squad member Ashdon Randall.
In 2017 in the Group One JRL U13 competition, the former U12 New South Wales representative scored a staggering 35 tries in just eleven games. Understandably Jake Lenard topped the try scoring.
Jake Lenard scored six tries in a May match against Grafton and five against Ballina in August. In addition Jake Lenard scored four tries twice, coming against Kyogle and Casino RSM and also hat tricks against Casino RSM, Marist Brothers, Ballina and Grafton. Jake Lenard in 2017 played two matches in the U14 Group One JRL competition with those matches being against Ballina and South Grafton
In the U13 Group One junior rugby league competition there is no more dangerous player than centre Grayson Reimer from the Grafton Ghosts who has scored an exceptional ten tries from his first three matches. In Round One against Ballina, he scored and followed that up with four tries in Round two against Casino RSM and last weekend in Round Three scored five against Clarence Coast.
In 2017 in addition to making the New South Wales U12 Rugby league side, Grayson Reimer finished as the leading try scorer and points scorer in the Group One U12 competition with 154 points from just 11 eleven matches. Grayson Reimer scored 38 tries and kicked a goal.
Look out there is another McGrady coming through the ranks. In the Group One JRL U15 competition, Tim McGrady has been incredibly consistent scoring doubles in each of his three matches this season, with the doubles coming against Clarence Coast and Lismore Marist Brothers on two occasions. Tim McGrady has also played two matches in the Group One U16.5 competition, one match being against Clarence Coast which included damaging Titans contracted centre or second rower Ethan Foster.
Congratulations to Titans Group One Junior Development Squad member Ashdon Randall for his selection in the New England Representative Rugby side that will tour New Zealand in July this year and have dinner with the All Blacks. Yes mate they are both doing well. Carsil had a solid MM Cup campaign with Tweed Heads and Matthew Kinchin has always been a bit under rated from my perspective.

Hi mdrew..
Great info as always. When you mention titans contracted player for 14, 15 ,16 year olds, ect - what does the contact entail?
Money, Scholarships, etc???
Junior players can sign contracts at basically the U15 level where there is a signing fee etc. Not many sign an actual contract at that age , most are in development squads where there is not a contractual obligation. There are also plenty of squads where players are invited to attend looking to impress. Clear as mud!!!!
I use terms like linked and contracted to endeavour to reflect the correct association, I am not always correct so apologies when I get them wrong

PBC defeated Keebra 26-22 outstanding game
To me this result is such a relief as I have been worrying that PBC as a Rugby League stronghold may have been fading away because it has been churning out stacks of AFL players for the GC Suns.
To me this result is such a relief as I have been worrying that PBC as a Rugby League stronghold may have been fading away because it has been churning out stacks of AFL players for the GC Suns.
Nope PBC are just churning out quality across the board! They have so many highly regarded Excellence Programs now across so many sports and fields. The Footballs are just one part of the picture.
Young front rower Ezra Talau had a solid start to the GCRL U16 Division Two competition last weekend starting in the front row and scoring for Ormeau in their 20 all draw against Robina. Ezra Talau earlier in the season was part of the Gold Coast White U16 side that performed so well in the SEQ U16 pre-season competition.

Palm Beach Currumbin defeat Keebra Park in NRL Schoolboy Cup clash at Pizzey Park
MAY 16, 2018
PALM Beach Currumbin have declared themselves an NRL Schoolboy Cup force after upsetting reigning champions Keebra Park in a 26-22 heart-stopper at Pizzey Park.
PBC dominated the opening 30 minutes to enter the break 18-10 up at Pizzey Park with halfback Tom Dearden putting on a clinic.
But a resurgent Keebra, inspired by five-eighth Paul Karaitana’s try on the half-time buzzer, blitzed the early stages of the second half to steal the lead.
Keebra’s left edge were unstoppable at one point, scoring three tries in quick succession including two to winger Tom Vickery, and appeared to have the win stitched up when Bryson Vavosa crossed on the right flank, only for the last pass to be ruled forward.
That stroke of luck revived PBC, who charged downfield the following set and regained the lead courtesy of Ediq Ambrosyev touching down in the corner and five-eighth Toby Sexton converting from the sideline.
Sexton made that a four-point lead with a 53rd minute penalty goal.
Keebra had a chance to snatch victory in the final minute of the game but PBC fullback Glenn McGrady dashed those hopes when he cleaned up a last-ditch grubber kick.
Burleigh U16 fullback Jesse Somerville had a Round One match to remember in the GCRL U16 Division Two competition. He started at fullback for Burleigh in their 54-0 victory over Helensvale scoring 24 points from three tries and six goals and then backed up to play in the U16 Division One match.
Plenty of Gold Coast boys in SEQ U13 and U14 training squads. Well done to all. One yo watch is U14 Runaway Bay half Jye Gray, a lot of others as well.

Titans rookie squad member Callum Boomer has been named on an extended bench for the Burleigh Colts this weekend
Titans linked youngster Jed Bignell was part of the Ipswich RL U15 Norths Gold side that were defeated 38-10 by North’s Gold last weekend.
Well done Ediq.
Cmon Titans, time to sign Dearden.
Coombabah State High School and South Coast U15 representative Titan Vaikai started in the front row and scored for Runaway Bay in their 54-2 win over Robina in Round One of the GCRL U15 Division One competition last weekend. The young front rower was a solid performer for the Titans U15 side that defeated the Western Mustangs at Nerang earlier this year.
It was a match where two former Western Australian youngsters were heavily involved in Round One of the U16 Division One competition when Nerang defeated Runaway Bay 60-0. For Nerang Trey Peni started in the centres and scored four tries and kicked two goals and second rower Tamati Clarke also scored starting the match in the second row.
Trey Peni who represented Gold Coast White U16 earlier this season is a former Rockingham Shark as is Tamati Clarke.
Titans Junior Rep update
https://www.titans.com.au/news/2018/05/17/junior-rep-update/
Big strong young Nerang Rooster Taanei Heu continued his strong form this season in the GCRL U16 Division One Round One match with the Roosters winning 60-0 over Runaway Bay. The talented youngster started in the second row and scored. Earlier this season he was a prominent member of the Gold Coast Vikings White U16 side.
Outstanding young Titans half Ryan Rivett was another member of the Gold Coast Vikings White U16 side playing half back in all of their matches. For his Burleigh side in Round One of the GCRL U16 Division One side Ryan Rivett started at half and scored a try and kicked four from four as Burleigh defeated Helensvale 24-18. You will be seeing Ryan Rivett a few more times in a Titans jersey before this year is done.
Titans contracted Ben Liyou has had an outstanding start to his 2018 season. He started off starring for North Coast in the NSW Country U18 Laurie Daley Cup competition and at just 17 years old made his Group Two First Grade debut for the Grafton Ghosts.
In the Group two U18 competition Ben Liyou has played in three matches, scoring 16 points from three tries and two goals. Ben Liyou scored a double against South Grafton (he kicked two conversions in the same match) with his other try coming against Belligen a fortnight ago.
Whilst he normally plays in the second row, Ben Liyou played in the centres in his Group Two First Grade debut.
Outstanding young Titans half Ryan Rivett was another member of the Gold Coast Vikings White U16 side playing half back in all of their matches.
Was much improved, and should feel very unlucky to miss out on the SEQ U16 squad.
Titans High Performance Unit member Ediq Ambrosyev has started the 2018 season off in outstanding form and was one of the standout players for the Gold Coast Vikings White U16 side playing all of their matches at five eight. He played five eight again last weekend in Round One of the GCRL U16 Division One competition for Currumbin as they defeated Mudgeeraba 54-12 with Ediq also crossing for a try in the match.
In addition Ediq Ambrosyev scored the match winning try for PBC in their Langer Cup match against Keebra Park last night when he scored in the left corner after an outrageous pass from fullback Glenn McGrady down a very very short blind side.
Titans contracted Ethan Foster continues to perform well for Clarence Coast in the New South Wales Country Group One U16.5 competition. In Round Four last weekend, Ethan Foster scored two tries and kicked a goal as his Clarence Coast side went down by six points, 24-18 to Casino RSM.
To date this season, Ethan Foster has scored four tries and kicked seven goals for a point’s tally of 30.
Titans contracted High performance Unit member Brody Smitka who was part of the South Coast U15 side and was subsequently selected in one of the two Queensland Schoolboy U15 sides started Round One of the U16 Division One competition at lock for Helensvale as they went down to Burleigh 24-18 last weekend.
Brody is still eligible to play in the U15 competition but like previous seasons is playing an age group up. The young front rower is developing at an outstanding rate with his offloading skills in particular developing quickly. For the Titans U15 side that defeated the Western Mustangs earlier in the year, Brody Smitka had some outstanding right hand offloads as well as some bone rattling defence.
Titans linked front rower Luke Maiden who was part of the Western Mustangs MM Cup side this season makes his starting debut this season for the Western Mustangs Colts against South Logan this weekend. There are five Titans linked boys in the side.
New Zealand born Burleigh U20 Colts centre Mikey Williams will make his Gold Coast Rugby League First Grade debut on Sunday when he lines up for the Bears in the centres against Currumbin. The 18 year old has been in outstanding form for the Burleigh Colts side.
Titans Rookie Squad member Allan Lockwood will once again start on the wing for Burleigh, Zae Wallace will start at hooker and Sean Garner at lock in what is a young Burleigh side.
After playing last weekend at half 2017 Titans NYC youngster Jordan Birch is back at fullback for Southport for their Gold Coast Rugby League First Grade match against Tweed Heads on Sunday. 18 year old youngster Kobe Whalen comes back at half after a week in the U19 competition and Tweed Heads Seagulls Hastings Deering's Colts squad members Gideon Afemui (second row) and Senn Kane (interchange) are also in the Southport side.
Titans Development Contract holder Tony Mata’utai will start from the bench for Tweed Heads.
The Burleigh Colts side for their Sunday match against Easts is incredibly strong with their starting pack having five Titans Rookie Squad members in it. Outstanding Titans youngster Jaxson Paulo is starting at fullback and Callum Boomer makes his Colts debut starting in the centres.
U18 eligible player Cameron Brown will start at half in his 2nd Colts game after coming off the bench a fortnight ago and Burleigh MM forwards Larryon Tevita and Jayden Sharp at in line for their Colts debuts from the bench
Titans contracted Ezra Ubaldino even though he is U15 eligible played in the U16 Div One competition tonight for Burleigh.

Titans Rookie Squad member Allan Lockwood will once again start on the wing for Burleigh, Zae Wallace will start at hooker and Sean Garner at lock in what is a young Burleigh side.
With Cam Brown starting, Im guessing Taine Tuaupiki may be in line for a Agrade call up? Very young side when you look across the board. Savage, Veve, Egan, McDonald all first year out of 20s.
Titans linked Dalby Devil Henry Abdul-Rahman is scheduled to start on the second row tomorrow in Dalby's U18 TRL match against Gatton. Henry Abdul-Rahman has played in the halves and hooker so far this season.
Toowoomba South's Titans linked duo Alex Dunneman (centre) and Connor Williams (second row) will line up in the TRL U18 competition tomorrow when they face Pittsworth
I appreciate that he may have given away a couple of penalties but for just his third NRL game Moeaki Fotuaika was still solid on his way to running for 78 metres and making 16 tackles
In the SEQ U19 Challenge match this afternoon Gold Coast U19's defeated Ipswich 14-6 with James Munckton, Will Malone Cooper Hennessy and Josh Somerville the try scorers and Caleb Pirini with two goals.
GC half Shallin Fuller was easily the best player on the field
- - - Updated - - -
In the SEQ Open match GC won 40-16 with Ethan Roberts scoring a double and kicking four goals
A couple of late positional changes for the Tweed Colts side today. Laz Sua drops to the bench with fellow Titans Rookie Squad member Ben Thomas moving from the second row to the front roe and Daniel Brownbill moves to the second row from the centres
Northern Rivers 64 (B O’Gorman 3, M Dwane 2, R Riches 2, A Colman 2, C Ziebell, J Hoban, L Perren tries; S Grant 8 goals) def. North Coast 12 (B Wells, Z Johnson tries; L Beaumont 2 goals)

Youngster Larryon Tevita drops off the bench but his time will come sooner rather than later
Deserved achievement for one pf the Titans best youngsters captaining the Burleigh Colts side this morning. Darius Farmer is an outstanding talent.
Burleigh Colts have been outstanding in the first half and lead 24-0 against Easts. Titans Rookie Squad member Kai O'Dpnnell with a try and on his Colts debut Callum Boomer has kicked four from four
Tweed Heads MM stand out and PBC star fullback Glenn McGrady will make his Colts debut this afternoon for the Seagulls in their match this afternoon against the Northern Pride.
Big win by Burleigh Colts this morning 42-4 with captain and Titans Rookie Squad star Darius Farmer with the first try of the second half and fellow Titan Callum Boomer kicking seven from seven on debut.
Burleigh Colts have been outstanding in the first half and lead 24-0 against Easts. Titans Rookie Squad member Kai O'Dpnnell with a try and on his Colts debut Callum Boomer has kicked four from four
Great win by youthful Tweed Heads Seagulls Colts side over the competition leading Northern Pride. Titans Rookie Squad members to the fore for the Seagulls with winger Curtis Dansey-Smaller with a double after his hat trick last weekend and interchange forward William Woolley also on the score board.
Titans contracted Ben Liyou and his U18 Grafton Ghosts had a great win this afternoon in the Group Two U18 competition beating the previously undefeated Coffs Harbour Comets 22-18. The Ghosts led 22-0 at half time and survived a second half comeback to hold on for a great win.
Unfortunately Henry Abdul-Rahman was on a losing side this morning with Dalby going down 36-14.
Outstanding Dalby five eight Travis Babbington scored three tries in ten minutes to keep Dalby in the match in the first half.
Travis Babbington has now scored seven tries in four games in the Toowoomba U18 competition and three tries in four first grade games.
Titans linked Dalby Devil Henry Abdul-Rahman is scheduled to start on the second row tomorrow in Dalby's U18 TRL match against Gatton. Henry Abdul-Rahman has played in the halves and hooker so far this season.
Connor Williams and Alex Dunneman were in a winning side this morning with their Toowoomba Southern Suburbs side won their Toowoomba Rugby League U18 match 30-18.
Connor Williams scored two first half tries including his first less than 90 seconds after kick off. Alex Dunneman converted SOuths's last try after the final siren.

After leading 18-10 after half time unfortunately the Western Mustangs Colts side went down to South's Logan 32-24.
Titans linked lock Blake Cullen was one of the Western Mustangs try scorers.
New South Wales Country recruit Zac Butler with a try and four goals from four attempts for the Mustangs and former Hervey Bay youngster Dylan Quinn scored a double.
In yesterday's Queensland Cup match for Burleigh Titans contracted youngster Tyrone Roberts-Davis started on the wing, played all 80 minutes and kicked three conversions from five attempts as the Bears defeated Easts 26-18.
Tyrone Roberts-Davis ran for 68 metres, 15 post contact and broke five tackles. He is had a 100% tackling efficiency percentage in the match.
In yesterdays Queensland Cup match for Burleigh Jai Whitbread started from the interchange bench as they beat Easts 26-18.
Jai Whitbread played 39 minutes, ran for 87 metres, 15 post contact and made 19 tackles at a 100% tackling efficiency. His NRL debut is only a matter of time even though Jai Whitbread is still Colts eligible.
Titans NRL Development contract holder Kiah Cooper has been in try scoring form over recent weeks and it is no different this afternoon as he scored in Tweed Heads Queensland Cup victory over the Northern Pride 28-22.
Kane Elgey and Leilani Latu also scored for the Seagulls.
In just his second NRL match, in addition to scoring his first (of hopefully many) NRL try AJ Brimson played all 80 minutes, running for 85 metres, 17 post contact, had a try assist and five tackle breaks.
AJ Brimson also made 15 tackles at a tackling efficiency of 88%.
A key member of the Nerang Roosters U16 Division One side is going to be Titans linked youngster Taine Ujdur-berghan who started Round One last week in their big win at fiveeight
Another young player to keep an eye on is Murwillumbah youngster Ryan Foran who played for the Titans U15 side earlier in the year against the Western Mustangs at Nerang
For people keeping an eye on PBC school boy sides another youngster to keep an eye on is former Mackay SHS youngster Jake Kearton. The young front rower or second rower was last year part of the Capricornia U15 side. The PBC Year Ten side is a talented one especially the forward pack
They may have had a bye in round one but the Southport U16 Division One side looks a good one with the likes of Titans linked lock Samual Shannon in the pack.
Other talented players include fullback Jadyce Ruki Va 'Alepu, former Northern Territory centre Kees Kane and former Western Australian front rower Ao Terangi Manihera.
Souths Sunnybank young half Tyrese Coromandel is also a solid acquisition.
They may have had a bye in round one but the Southport U16 Division One side looks a good one with the likes of Titans linked lock Samual Shannon in the pack.
I though he was an absolute stand out through the SEQ preseason comp with the Vikings White side. Made some bone rattling tackles, and ran some great lines. Really stepped up!
In the GCRL U17 Div Two competition 5/8 Jacob Tekii scored a try and kinked 4 from 4 for Coomera in their 24-18 win over Beaudesert. Round One saw him kick three goals.
Talented Robins Raptors fullback Angus Campbell was at it again on the weekend scoring a hat trick in a 34-24 victory over Currumbin. In both rounds this season he has scored a hat trick in the U14 Div Two competition.
In Round six of the NRRRL U18 competition, former Titans Development squad member Blake Roberts started at centre and scored a double as his Cudgen side defeated Casino RSM 56-6. Fellow former Titan Ethan Kane kicked eight from ten in the match.
Well done to Blake Campbell and David Butler for their selection in the Qld U18 side.
Well done to Blake Campbell and David Butler for their selection in the Qld U18 side.
Guessing Simpkin & Coates aren't with the Titans?
No mate, both with Broncos. Young Jake is absolute class
Guessing Simpkin & Coates aren't with the Titans?
For Helensvale in the U19 GCRL competition Jayden Campbell was on the losing side in their 28-10 loss to Southport, with the five eight kicking one from two.
Jayden Campbell however was on the winning side later in the day when he came off the bench in the Doug Lipp Cup match scoring a try and kicking two goals in Helensvale’s 48-18 win. He also had the amazing experience of playing with his father Preston Campbell who also came off the bench for tehHornets.
Young Currumbin centre Tate Roberts who is the younger brother of former Titans NYC five eight and current Tweed Heads Seagulls Ethan Roberts scored a double over the weekend for Currumbin in their U16 Division One victory over Helensvale. He has started the opening two rounds in the centres and also scored in Round One against Mudgeeraba. His centre partner in Round Two was Titans linked PBC student Daniel Butterini.
Titans contracted youngster Ediq Ambrosyev had an outstanding week, in addition to scoring the winning try for PBC against Keebra Park, he made it two tries from two games in the Gold Coast Rugby League U16 Division One competition when he scored for Currumbin in their 32-10 win over Helensvale. As in Round One Ediq Ambrosyev started the match at five eight.
Titans contracted centre Noah Gafa has a 100% strike rate through the opening two rounds of the GCJRL U17 Division One competition after scoring his second try in Round Two for Currumbin in their 36-4 victory over Helensvale.
The hooker for Helensvale was tough as nails Titans linked Jesse Brasslin.

A few tweed boys in their any linked to the titans

Is it common for players contracted to other NRL clubs to play MM for their non-affiliate club? I seen a lot of Tweed players picked for QLD 18s but very few aligned to Titans?
If Burleigh and Tweed are aligned to Titans, wouldn't it make sense for their MM sides to have only non-contracted or Titan linked/contracted players??
Burleigh and Tweed Heads Run the teams and the Titans allocate players to each. The brief of both clubs is to promote the game thus other clubs players are also selected to play. Whilst I understand what you are saying young players commit to NRL clubs for various reasons and it would be hard to say to a young bloke you cannot play MM because you are not a Titan.

Okay thanks for the info mate. How is it different in Hastings Deering Colts then?
I guess the biggest difference at that age group mate is that most NRL clubs more the players to their regions for example the Broncos move their Darling Downs players to Brisbane.
Okay thanks for the info mate. How is it different in Hastings Deering Colts then?
Through the opening six rounds of the Group 18 Junior rugby league competition some outstanding teams have emerged:
In the U13 competition, the Bilambil Jets are undefeated scoring 134 points and conceding 66
In the U14 competition, the Bilambil Jets are undefeated scoring 198 points and conceding 54
In the U15 competition, the South Tweed Bears and undefeated scoring 204 points and conceding 40
In the U16 competition the Bilambil Jets are undefeated scoring 112 points and conceding 20
The Bilambil Jets are also performing well through the opening Rounds of the U17 Division One and U19 GCRL competitions.
A couple of Tweed Heads Seagulls MM squad members were on hand for Runaway Bay on the weekend in their U19 GCRL victory over Ormeau.
Jayden To’O started at fullback and scored a double and Codey McLaughlin started at lock and also scored.
Burleigh Bears 2018 MM Cup player Zane Prophet continues to show why I consider him one of the most improved players in Cold Coast Rugby League circles over recent seasons.
After playing a number of MM Cup matches he is back in the local U19 competition and has a 100% strike rate for Ormeau.
Zane Prophet has started the three U19 matches that he has been involved in in the second row and scored again last weekend in Ormeau’s loss to Runaway Bay and scored a double in Round Four against Helensvale.
Te Okeingaroa-Wikaira is yet another youngster who has moved to the Gold Coast to chase an opportunity in rugby league. The youngster who played his junior rugby league with Nambucca Heads in Northern New South Wales in the Group Two U18 competition has played three of the five rounds of the GCRL U19 competition with Burleigh, starting on the wing in Round Three and from the bench in Rounds Four and Five.
The Currumbin U19 side on the weekend had a MM Cup feel to it with a number of youngsters in the Eagles side. Burleigh MM youngster and Cook Islands native Adyn Anguna came off the bench in just his second U19 match.
Also playing his second U19 match was Tweed Heads MM squad member Ji Van Heerwaarden who started in the front row.
Rounding out the trio of MM Cup players was Kiu Nuku-Ngala who played all of the MM Cup rounds including the semi-final on the wing for Tweed Heads. Interestingly he played five eight for Currumbin on the weekend. He has played a fair bit of fullback in the past so the five eight position is not totally foreign to him.
A couple of Bilambil Jets youngsters are making their mark in the early rounds of the GCRL U19 competition, five eight Hezakiah Dennison originally from the Warwick area scored a double last weekend in Round Five in 34-12 win over Mudgeeraba.
Centre Ethan Simpson scored a hat trick in the match for Bilambil and is quickly gaining a reputation as a try scoring centre after scoring seven tries from eight matches in the U19 competition in 2017.
A young player to keep an eye on in the Burleigh junior ranks is centre Tereie Wikaira-Pehiriri, the young man who moved up to the Gold Coast this year after previously playing for Clarence Coast in the Group One competition has played two matches in the U17 Division One competition and two in the U19 competition and scored his first try on the Coast when he scored in the U19’s in Burleigh’s 26-22 victory over Currumbin on Sunday. He started in the centres on Saturday in the U17 Division One competition and backed up on Sunday starting at centre in the U19 match.
Titans Development Contract holder Tony Matautia dropped off the Tweed Heads Seagulls Queensland Cup bench late last week and suited up for the Seagulls in the local First Grade competition, starting in the front row and scoring as the Seagulls defeated Southport 40-6.
Titans Development Contract holder Kiah Cooper, in addition to scoring again for Tweed Heads in Round Eleven of the Queensland Cup started on the right wing, playing all 80 minutes. In that time he ran for 110 metres, 39 post contact, broke six tackles and made a line break. He also made two tackles.
Young former Victorian Pita-Will Purcell continues to show his versatility on the Gold Coast. After starting at lock for Burleigh in the U17 Division One competition last Saturday he backed up and started at five eight on Sunday for the Bears U19 side.
In the U19 match he kicked three goals from five attempts as Burleigh defeated Currumbin 26-22.
Over the course of the season to date, Pita-Will Purcell has been a jack of all trades starting matches in the centres and well as five eight and also providing a spark off the bench.
Burleigh youngster Larryon Tevita continues to press for an opportunity in the Bears Colts side and after being the last player omitted from the Colts 17 for their Round Eleven clash last weekend was back playing for Burleigh in the local U19 competition, coming off the bench and scoring in the Bears 26-22 win over Currumbin.
An opportunity in the Burleigh Colts squad is not far away for the Auckland youngster who has moved over to the Coast and is making the most of every opportunity.
Young Auckland born centre Mikey Williams has made an outstanding start to his time in Australia. The young centre started the season in outstanding form for the Burleigh Hastings Deering’s Colts side and made a deserved GCRL First Grade debut on the weekend for Burleigh.
Mikey Williams started for the Bears in the centres and scored in their tough 34-14 loss to the Currumbin Eagles.
Outstanding 17 year old PBC student Solomon Torrens had an outstanding period last week. Last Thursday he started at lock for PBC and was for me the best player on the field as PBC defeated Keebra Park in a Langer Cup match at Pizzey Park by two points.
To cap off a great week the superb Northern New South Wales talent made his GCRL First Grade debut on Sunday when he started in the centres for Bilambil in their 26-18 loss to Tugun.
Earlier in the season Solomon Torrens played two matches for the Tweed Heads MM Cup side coming off the bench in Rounds One and Two.
One of the most talented young players in the Titans Junior Development System made his GCRL First Grade debut on the weekend after dominating the Hastings Deering’s U20 Colts competition so far this season.
Taine Tuaupiki started at five eight in his debut for Burleigh in their 34-14 loss to Currumbin and the 18 year old has an exceptional future in front of him and it would not surprise at all to see him get a game or two late in the season in the Queensland Cup, he is that good.
Big strong young Ormeau front rower Ezra Talau madd it two tries from two matches last weekend in Round Two of the GCRL U26 DIv Two comp in the Shearer’s tough loss 22-18 to Burleigh
Powerful young forward Ezekiel Stephenson-Bolt scored three tries and kicked two goals last weekend in the Group One U14 competition as his Lismore side were defeated 38-30 by Kyogle.
Tough Titans linked lock Samuel Shannon started and scored for Southport in Round Two of their GCRL U16 Div One match last weekend in the Tigers 22-4 victory over Burleigh
The QSSRL U18 championships start tomorrow in Toowoomba and going through to Sunday. There are a number of Titans linked boys in the South Coast side.
Young Burleigh U16 Div Two fullback Jesse Somerville is having an outstanding start to the season. In a Round Two 22-18 win over Ormeau he scored two tries and kicked three goals. In the opening two rounds he now has 38 Points from five tries and nine goals.
In the U16.5 Group One U16.5 competition young Kyogle fullback Layne hardy had a great match last weekend scoring four tries and converting one on his way to 18 points in Kyogle’s 36-14 win over Lismore Marist. In his two games to date in the competition this season he has scored five tries and kicked two goals for 24 points.
Earlier this season Layne Harding was a stand out performer at fullback for Northern Rivers in the U16 Andrew Johns NSW Country competition.
An interesting player from the Titans affiliated Western Mustangs is second rower Kyle Petersen some of his highlights from this seasons MM Cup campaign were quite impressive, including an exceptional performance against Victoria when he crossed for two powerful tries in the Round Two match in Victoria.
Post the MM Cup he has been playing for Southern Suburbs in the Toowoomba Rugby League competition. He has played four U18 matches scoring three tries including a double a fortnight ago against Warwick and last weekend he scored against Pittsworth. Team mates in the Southern Suburbs side are Titans linked second rower Connor Williams and centre Alex Dunneman.
Kyle Petersen has also played in three TRL First Grade matches as well. He made his TRL First Grade debut in late April against Gatton and has also been involved in First Grade in the last two weeks. On each occasion that he has in First Grade he backed up from the U18 match earlier in the day.
He is a big strong raw boned young man and a very intriguing player to say the least.
You have to be impressed with the start that the Tweed Heads Seagulls U17 Division One side is having in their first year in the competition and after their 21-14 win over Mudgeeraba in Round Two last weekend they are unbeaten.
Powerful young Titans linked front rower Jordan Tauali’i has started both matches and during last week came on as a second half replacement for the PBC Langer Cup side when they defeated Keebra Park by two points.
Former Tingha youngster Tiger Rawlings (the junior club of Bevan French) has been a key member of the side. On the weekend he scored two tries, kicked two goals and the field goal. Through the opening two rounds the young half back has 21 points from three tries, four goals and a field goal.
Outstanding 19 year old Cudgen winger Connah Mills was on the score sheet yet again last weekend in Round Seven of the NRRRL First Grade competition. The winger scored a hat trick in Cudgen’s 44-36 win over Murwillumbah and has now scored ten tries from just seven matches this season.
Powerful Coombabah student and South Coast U15 representative Titan Vaikai started in the front row on the weekend in Round Two of the GCRL U15 Division competition for Runaway Bay as they defeated Mudgeeraba. Five eight Kruse Rimene scored a hat trick for the Seagulls.
Earlier this season, Titan Vaikai performed solidly for the Titans U15 side that defeated the Western Mustangs.
If you get to see any of Wavell State High School’s school boy matches this season in either the Langer or GIO Cups, from a Titans perspective, keep an eye out for talented outside back William Parslow. The 16 year old who plays for Redlands in the BRL U16 Premier Division can play fullback, wing or centre. In 2017 he started at fullback in the U15 QSSRL championships playing fullback for Met North.
Titans contracted youngster and PBC student Ezra Ubaldino played his first match of the season for Burleigh on the weekend in their U16 Division One Round Two loss to Southport.
Even though he is still eligible to play in the U15 age group, as he did last season Ezra Ubaldino is playing up an age group and scored Burleigh’s only try of the match after starting from the bench.
In the U18 QSSRL championships this afternoon South Coast won 20-16

Big strong young Titans Group One development squad member Ashdon Randell scored two tries and kicked five goals for Grafton as they defeated Clarence Coast in the Group One U14 JRL Round Five match last weekend.
Titans youngster Jed Bignell started at five eight and scored for his U15 Norths Gold in their Ipswich rugby league Round Five match last Friday night. Unfortunately his Norths Gold side were defeated by Goodna 26-14.
Jed Bignell was one of the standouts for the Titans U15 side that defeated Western Mustangs earlier this year.
The NSW CCC U15 trials are on today to Sydney with Titans contracted half Thomas Weaver in the Northern Country trial side.
Last weekend in Round Five of the Group Two U18 competition Titans contracted second rower Ben Liyou scored and led from the front as his Grafton Ghosts side held on to defeat the previously undefeated Coffs Harbour 22-18. The 17 year old has already made his Group Two First Grade debut earlier this season and has a big future ahead of him.
Another week another position for Titans 2017 NYC player Jordan Birch. Over the last fortnight he has played half and fullback and he has been named at five eight for Southport in their match tomorrow against Runaway Bay in Round Six of the Gold Coast Rugby League competition.
Great to see another member of the Titans Rookie Squad being given an opportunity in the Gold Rugby League First Grade competitions this weekend for Burleigh when Lochlyn Sheldon is scheduled to start on the bench for their match on Sunday against Bilambil
Also in the Burleigh side are Darius Farmer (interchange) and Mikey Williams (wing) along with Zae Wallace who has been named at half
With some players to the Burleigh GCRL First Grade side there has been some movement for the Burleigh Colts side. Allan Lockwood who has been playing in the GCRL First Grade Burleigh side will line up in the centres, Taine Tuaupiki is back after a week in the Burleigh First grade side and Braden Amundsen is in line for his Colts debut after being named on an extended bench.
Great to see Titans youngster Kel Sheather back for Tweed Colts for their match this Sunday against the Sunshine Coast Falcons after missing a few matches with injury.
He started off the season in outstanding form in the Colts competition at half even though he was eligible to play in the MM Cup.
South Coast just too good for Darling Downs in the U18 QSSRL Day Two match. It is 42-4 at half time
Final score South Coast 58 Darling Downs 8
South Coast just too good for Darling Downs in the U18 QSSRL Day Two match. It is 40-4 at half time
Difficult evening for the Western Mustangs Colts side Townsville. In a certain raiser to the NRL match between the Cowboys and Storm they went down 52-0. Four Titans Rookie Squad members were in the Western Mustangs side.
After starting the opening two rounds of the GCRL U17 Division One competition in the centres, Titans Rookie Squad member Noah Gafa has moved to the second row for Currumbin's match tomorrow against Ormeau
After playing the majority of the last couple of seasons in the halves it is interesting to see Jack Kenworthy who has been involved with Titans Developments Squads line up for his first match of the season in the centres for Helensvale against Bilambil in the GCRL U17 Division One match tomorrow afternoon.
Unfortunately the Northern Country NSW CCC side lost both of their matches today
The NSW CCC U15 trials are on today to Sydney with Titans contracted half Thomas Weaver in the Northern Country trial side.
After five seasons playing rugby it is great to see Te-Raukura Heremaia back in the rugby league ranks.
He is playing the 2018 season with the Currumbin Eagles in the U17 Division One competition in the front row and has been named in the front row again for their Round Three match against Ormeau tomorrow afternoon
With players at the U18 QSSRL Championships in other players are looking to take the opportunity presented.
One such player is Titans youngster Ryan Rivett. He started in the U16 Division One competition but tomorrow will start at five eight for Burleigh in their U17 Division match against Mudgeeraba.
Being up against players a year older than him will be good experience for Ryan Rivett.
At the start of this year Jake Kearton came down from Mackay SHS to attend the PBC Rugby League Excellence Program after playing for Capricornia at the U15 QSSRL Championships in 2017.
Even though he is eligible to play in the U16 age group with Mudgeeraba, Jake Kearton has started the season in the U17 Division One competition. He started Round One in the second row in the Redbacks 46-0 loss to a rampant Currumbin side containing Titans contracted Noah Gafa.
Jake Kearton will line up in the second row again in Round Three tomorrow when Mudgeeraba take on Burleigh.
He is also training with the Titans U16 squad that is preparing for matches against PNG and NSW Country in September at Burleigh and Cudgen respectively.
Great to see Titans Rookie squad member Bent Thomas being given the opportunity to captain the Tweed Heads Seagulls Colts on Sunday against the Sunshine Coast Falcons.
There is no doubt he is up to the task and will lead by example

^^^ the great man is back. WooHoo!!!
Yeah baby.
But seriously it’s distressing we despite Brennan’s big talk of saying “he’d future proof the Titans for the next decade” the same crap is happening where Calamity Annesley and Co just let other clubs do whatever they want and take away our best kids.
Burleigh Bears Colts won yesterday in a tight match against Mackay 14-6. Titans Rookie Squad member Callum Boomer now has kicked ten from ten through his first two Colts matches.
Last night for the Burleigh Queensland Cup side Tyronne Roberts-Davis scored a double in their 20-10 win over the Cutters

He scored in just the 3rd minute of the first half and then also scored in the 18th minute of the second as Redlands defeated Aspley 34-18.

To be fair I think they are starting to move in the right direction. I got the impression that they have a bigger budget next year. Jamie mentioned that they were in a position to sign a complete under 16 and under 18 team for next year, which is what the boys in the training squad were building towards.
