THE Tweed Heads Seagulls suffered their first loss of the Intrust Super Cup season tonight.

The Pride knocked over the minor premiers16-10 in the round 22 clash to secure second spot on the table.

The final scoreline probably flattered the Seagulls, who trailed 14-0 at half-time and never really threatened.

In front of a big crowd, the Pride dominated field position in the second half but couldn't convert the momentum into points after having two tries disallowed.

A Chey Bird penalty goal extended the lead to 16-4 with 11 minutes remaining.

The Tweed scored a consolation try to Matt King in the final minute.

The Pride (2nd) will now host the Ipswich Jets (5th) at Barlow Park next Saturday, while the Tweed (1st) will play Wynnum Manly (6th).

Spewing!...I was in Cairns all week and didn't realise Tweed were playing there Friday night!

....and I also didn't realise Cairns races (horses) were on Friday as well. Damn. :fight:

It would have been a big day....Maybe it was a good thing I missed both! :p
