IPSWICH JETS v TWEED HEADS
North Ipswich Reserve
Saturday, August 20 - 2pm* Live on ABC 1

After breaking the record for most games without a loss in the Queensland Cup last weekend with their 20th game undefeated, bringing down the Tweed Heads Seagulls will be some feat. This week?s challengers are the Ipswich Jets and while they have plenty of talent out-wide, they have been hit hard with injury in the forwards. The Jets were dealt a further blow following last weekend?s win over Norths Devils, with skipper Keiron Lander and forwards Lorenzo Maafu and Nathaniel Neale all suffering injuries at a time when the club is already missing backline stars Luke Capewell and Brendan Marshall. Without so many of their front-liners, coaches Shane and Ben Walker will be calling on new additions Rowan Winterfield, Slade King and Tyson Lofipo to step up. In contrast to the Jets, the Tweed look set to strengthen their already formidable side, with the return of first-choice hooker Kayne Lawton (in for Nathan Mossman) from a rib complaint. A landmark match for the state-wide competition, this will also be the 400th Queensland Cup game televised by ABC TV.
