TWEED HEADS v NORTHERN PRIDE
Piggabeen Sports Complex
Saturday, June 4 ? 2pm* Live on ABC 1

This weekend?s top of the table clash is a game not to be missed. The undefeated Tweed Heads Seagulls will face their toughest challenge yet when they take on a Northern Pride team which has only lost the one game so far. Will the Pride be the first team this year to take the two points away from the competition pacesetters? Last weekend, the Seagulls equalled the record of Toowoomba for most wins in a row to start a season with 10 and will be looking to hold that honour outright. Tweed have named an unchanged side for the clash and will have the services of Kayne Lawton after the Titans contracted hooker took an early plea to a dangerous throw charge. The Pride will also field an unchanged team following its 24-18 victory over the Norths Devils at Barlow Park last weekend. Alex Starmer will play his 50th Queensland Cup game (all for Pride) while Seagulls five-eighth Matt King (Tweed Heads/Souths Logan) will take to the field for his 150th Cup game. Head-to-head this is also shaping as a close one, with the Tweed holding a 4-3 record over the visitors.

Davis in doubt for Seagulls game

TWEED Heads captain Brad Davis is in doubt for today's Queensland Cup blockbuster against the Northern Pride at Piggabeen after rolling his ankle at training.

The crafty halfback has been a key part of the Seagulls' unbeaten start to the season and his absence will surely impact the club's attempt at a record 11 straight wins against the defending premiers.

The Seagulls equalled Toowoomba for most wins in a row to start a season with their victory over Redcliffe last week and will be looking to hold the honour outright.

Tweed Heads sit alone on top of the Intrust Super Cup ladder, while the Northern Pride are second.

Titans-contracted hooker Kayne Lawton is free to play after accepting an early guilty plea to a dangerous throw charge this week, while Seagulls five-eighth Matt King will celebrate his 150th Cup game.

The gutsy Burleigh Bears will travel to Mackay to face the Cutters tomorrow.

Riley Brown has again been named in the number nine jersey in a position that seems to be under some kind of curse, with the Bears having used eight different players at hooker already this season.

Marty Mitchell will make his return from injury for Burleigh from the bench.

The Ipswich Jets will be without prop Tyson Lofipo against Wynnum Manly tomorrow, who has been suspended for two matches for a dangerous throw.

my friend who lives over there has been saying that Shannon Walker has been killing it for the Seagulls.

I wonder if I'll be able to find a stream of this game?

Looks like Walker has done his hammy. Looked like an ACL when he first went down so lets just hope is is a minor tear or something.
