RAIDERS TO FACE AUSSIE GIANTS
THE EAGLES will be landing on Craven Park in October.
For Barrow Raiders have arranged a friendly against the top Sydney club Manly.
The Sea Eagles, currently eighth in the Australian NRL are celebrating their 60th anniversary in 2006.
They can boast experienced Test prop Steve Menzies and exciting 20-year-old fullback Brett Stewart in their ranks. Manly will be in England on a three-week tour and Barrow, along with York and new club Celtic Crusaders, will play host to the friendlies.
As well as playing at Craven Park on October 24, the Australian party will stay in the Furness area for four days.
Raiders assistant coach Dave Clark, who is liaising the visit, says there will be a Sportsman?s Dinner. There are also plans for coaching sessions for youngsters.
