Titans Juniors score four from four in Sunny Coast Double Header

It was a case of deja vu in round five of the Mal Meninga and Cyril Connell Cups with Gold Coast Green once again taking all eight points in the second of the "Double Header" rounds played on the Sunshine Coast over the weekend.

Travelling North to face a tough Sunshine Coast Falcons outfit on the Saturday and backing up against Central United on Sunday was considered a difficult task but one that the boys accomplished with an attitude and maturity that impressed the coaching staff.

The Under-16s scored a 22-16 win over Sunshine Coast and a 38-10 win over Central United while the Under 18s scored a 24-14 win over Sunshine Coast and a 64-8 win over Central Untied.

"The results are a credit to the boys and the professionalism they showed throughout the weekend,?? said Under 18s coach Jamie O?Connor.
?They travelled well and focussed on the job in hand and really did the club proud in that regard.

"It was a difficult task but I think they learnt today that good preparation leads to good results and this will stand them in good stead as they move on with their careers.??

O'Connor was particularly pleased with the consistency of his squad and the efforts of forwards Oliver Percy and Jack Durheim.

"Oliver Percy puts in 100 per cent every week and has developed into a key member of the team and it was great to see Jack Durheim make a succesful return from an injury that had sidelined him for the last 3 weeks." He said.

Cyril Connell coach Aaron Zimmerle was equally impressed with the weekend?s football and the way the boys approached the game.

"Its always difficult taking the young sides away as its a bit out of routine for them but they should be congratulated on the way they kept their heads on the game and the job we had to do,?? he said.

?We are building momentum as we head into the finals and are looking forward to the upcoming competition.??

Next week is a bye round for all teams with Round 6 (Sunday April 10th) seeing Gold Coast Green taking on Wests Panthers at Purtell Park. Kick off times 2-00pm and 3-15pm.
