heard on the grapvine this arvo that Jason Sintome has defected to the Suns, has anybody else heard anything, I dont think Michael Searle would be happy

They offered him something like twice his pay. But I'd never do it. What a terrible situation to be in.

It is a very very hostile move from the AFL, as Jase has been with the Titans since the start. So he knows our play book. And he is well connected with the media.

So in one blow the GCAFL17 get media contacts, many especially through Social Networking affiliated with the Titans and also rob us early in the season, which is hard to replace.

But we have alot of internal talent to cover the breach.

Just shows how serious the AFL are.

Not sure if any of u guys use Twitter at all but Jason was dribbling a bit there last week this seems to be why, as Brad said we have plenty of people to fill the void but sometimes u gotta makes choices for your family , i'd cut my left nut off 1st though..

Don't blame the guy for jumping ships with a pay rise that lucrative - but still, it sucks.

THE AFL prides itself on being the trendsetters, but they have looked to rugby league for their key media men in Queensland The new Gold Coast Suns recruited Jason Sintome from the Titans, and the Lions poached Dave Donaghy from Melbourne Storm. Donaghy is a former rugby league player who represented Queensland Universities. We hear that Suns-bound Sintome was escorted out of the Gold Coast Titans offices immediately after he informed managing director Michael Searle of his defection.

Can't blame him really. As soon as I heard the news I discretely twittered my thoughts to him. I have played some interesting email tennis with Jason over the years, not always with a smile on the face either, but I wish him all the best.
