Absolutely, it's up to the Admin Department to look after it.

I'll keep an eye on FSN.

Titans deny salary cap breach allegations

March 27, 2010

Gold Coast Titans have denied allegations of a purported sponsorship deal which may have created a potential salary cap breach. The NRL has launched an investigation after a former club sponsor involved in a $4.2-million dispute with the Titans claimed it had an agreement to build captain Scott Prince a $400,000 house as part of his deal with the club. But Gold Coast chief Michael Searle, who is confident of winning the legal battle against Simcorp Development and Constructions, has told NRL officials the allegations are untrue and has offered full access to the club's accounts. Searle is considering legal action over the allegations. ''These allegations are totally false and are very serious, and for that reason we have handed them over to our lawyer and they are handling it from there,'' a club spokesman said. Searle yesterday discussed the issue with the NRL, who passed the claims on to salary cap auditor Ian Schubert for investigation. ''We will certainly look into it further but at this stage we've spoken to Michael Searle and he strongly denies any breach of the cap,'' NRL chief David Gallop said. Searle has kept Gallop informed on the club's legal battle with Simcorp, which claims it is owed $4.2m in payments for the construction of the Titans' Centre of Excellence next door to Skilled Park at Robina. The Titans say they have paid all outstanding money but Simcorp director Alex Simpson told subcontractors last month that the reason they had not been paid was because the company had been short-changed by $4m. The matter was in court last Tuesday. Prince has a $20,000 third-party sponsorship deal with Simcorp as one of the Titans' marquee players. The Titans have also forwarded to the NRL details of an alleged $1.4m extortion attempt against the club. The alleged extortioner has not been named.
