TWEED HEADS v BURLEIGH BEARS
Sunday, July 26 @ Cudgen Oval 3pm

WITH halfback Brent McConnell ruled out following last weekend?s bruising clash against Souths Logan, Jacob Fauid slips into the No. 7 jumper for Burleigh. Marty Paulson moves from fullback to five-eighth to cover for Fauid, while Nick Parfitt ? who needs just one try to become the first Queensland Cup player to score 100 career tries ? switches from the wing to his preferred fullback position. Queensland Residents winger Kaine Manihera slots back on to the flank after missing the 23-10 loss to the Magpies. The positional changes add more intrigue to what should be one of the best games of the season. Tweed has also made changes as it attempts to avenge its 40-26 loss to Burleigh in their round six match earlier this season.

This game will have alot of feeling about it. Burleigh let the Seagulls have it earlier in the year, not only on the scoreboard but verbally and physically.

The Burleigh boys really want to win the local derby because they are mainly part time footballers with regular jobs throughout the week. They think they have a point to prove against a team who are mostly professional footballers and really step up in what will be a tough encounter.

Anyone else going to the game. I wouldn't miss it.

Support the Titans fringe players and get down to Kingscliff tommorow at 2pm.

The game was really hard fought by both teams. Connie was taken off before half time injured and played no further part in the game. He had a problem around his right knee area. Nobody could confirm at the time what the injury was but at first it was thought to be a slight quad tear. Great win to Tweed which secures them in equal 5th with the Bears.

Has anyone heard any news about Tweed Seagulls folding next year. Heard it on the grapevine yesterday and was wondering what would happen to our feeder program if they did.

Better not be! I doubt it. They are one of the oldest rugby league clubs in the entire nation!

I doubt it would be the whole club. Maybe just their QCup team.

Unless it is something to do with the NSWRL wanting them to be part of the NSW Cup?
